I don't remember the last time I got a notification and smiled
And I don't know if I know what it feels like to be loved
They say once you feel it, you'll know
I've never known anything before
My heart cries out and my head screams the same tune
Let me be loved
But is there a person who could love the kind of man I am
I do not know, I've never known anything
And I am fool to wait around
One god once said
Let there be light
But I've struck every match and lit every candle
There's enough light in my life to outshine the sun
I have everything I could ever need
So why am I so busy wanting for a connection
And this is a fools game
Writing sad poetry for a love I have not known
For I have never known anything
And I know I have better things to do with my time
But it's the simple want
I want to write, even though I could do something I need to do
I want to love and be loved, even though I know I'm better off living this life
Nothing bad ever happens to the man only looking after himself
But we all know that's a lie
And God I WANT to love and be loved
