The Letter

Several props in their production of Les Mis would end up being reused multiple times during the show.  There were big ones, such as tables and benches, but also little ones.  Little ones like a letter Brooke and Christine both used during the show.

Brooke as Fantine would bring the letter on stage while working in the factory scene, and it'd be taken from her by the woman to her left.

Later on, Jeremy as Marius would give the letter to Christine as Eponine, a love letter for Jenna as Cosette.  Neither of them had the letter for a very long time, and Christine held onto it the entire time her character had it until it was delivered, as it was a small prop and they didn't want anything to happen to it.  It wouldn't be a terribly big deal, they could always make another letter if need be, but still inconvenient.

So, when it was time to start the early stages of blocking scenes and the letter had vanished, everyone was a bit frustrated.  They managed to get through it by just using a piece of paper, as they were still in the earliest stages of blocking, but Mr Reyes asked they find the letter as soon as possible.

Brooke came to Christine with a frown, "Do you know where that letter is?  I know you took it home to practice with Jeremy.  What happened to it?"

Christine was visibly stressed, "I don't know, I- we ran the scenes a million times and I swear I put it in one of our music folders, but it's not in either of them.  We've looked everywhere.  Jeremy and I are gonna check his house after rehearsal."

"Christine, you lost it?" Brooke frowned, though she knew she shouldn't have gotten too mad.  It's not as if Christine was being careless.  It seemed to have just disappeared.

Christine clasped her hands together in front of her, "Well, we both lost it, but... yeah.  I'm sorry, I'm gonna look everywhere for it, I promise."

Brooke sighed, "Alright, alright, look.  Regardless of whether we find it or have to make a new one, can you and Jeremy practice at home with just like- a regular piece of paper from now on?  We need the letter for the show."

Christine nodded rapidly, "Yeah, don't worry, this won't happen again."
