Chloe groaned to herself as Jenna stood backstage to change from her normal dress into the wedding dress during Empty Chairs at Empty Tables. She hadn't meant to catch Jenna's attention, but unfortunately, she got it anyway.
"What's wrong, Chlo?" Jenna asked as she stepped out of her normal dress.
Chloe shook her head, "It's nothing, just- Meg, the other stage manager, is getting on my last nerve. And it's like, honestly, why should I care? But she keeps undermining the decisions I'm making, and everyone is listening to her because she's a senior, but if they'd just listen to the decisions I made originally, we'd be switching scenes faster. But nobody cares what I have to say, because I'm a junior, and this is my first musical. It's frustrating."
Jenna frowned, "I'm sorry, Chloe. Maybe you should talk to Mr Reyes about it? Can you get my zipper for me by the way?"
"I got you." Chloe gestured her over to zip up her back, "And I've already tried. He thinks I should just listen to her because she's a senior. I hate that everyone thinks she knows better just because she's older and I'm new. When we ran it my way during tech while she was gone, the scene changes were faster. Which was good, because Mr Reyes has been complaining about how slow scene changes are. It's whatever though. I've done what I can. Nobody's gonna listen to me. Nothing else I can do. I really love that costume on you, Jenna. It looks beautiful, seriously."
Jenna offered the most comfort she could in her smile and looked down at her dress, "Thanks! Hey, if Mr Reyes complains about the scene changes again, I'll vouch for you."
"Really?" Chloe put her hand over her chest, "You'd do that for me?"
"Of course! I gotta go on stage in a minute, so I'm gonna go up a bit, but I've got your back, okay?"
"Okay. Thanks, Jenna." Chloe smiled at her, and Jenna stepped up to where her entrance would be, just waiting for her cue line.
