"Okay, so, where is your Marius after the events of the musical?" Michael asked Jeremy during lunch, "You and Cosette live happily ever after, but then what?"
Jeremy groaned, "Christine is so much better at this stuff than I am. I get why we have to come up with stuff, because it helps us get into character, but I don't feel like I'm creative enough."
Michael nudged his foot with his own, "I think you are. Don't overthink it, just the first thing that comes to your head. Let's say if you grow old and Cosette dies before you. Who takes care of you?"
"That's morbid, Michael." Jeremy responded, deadpan, "But I dunno, probably my kids?"
Michael grinned, "So your Marius has kids in the future! There we go."
Jeremy paused, "Whoa. Yeah, I think so. I mean, he and Cosette have the money to raise them not on the streets. He wouldn't want to have kids if they'd end up on the streets like all of his friends did. They'd probably wait though, Marius has trauma around all of his friends dying, including Eponine."
Michael nodded in agreement, "Yeah? Do you think he'd name his kids after them? Or maybe after Valjean?"
"That I don't know. Maybe after Fantine. I don't know how Cosette would feel about naming them after Eponine since she teased Cosette growing up before Jean Valjean stepped in. I don't know if Cosette would've forgiven enough to name her child after her, you know?" Jeremy figured out loud, "I'd have to talk a bit with Jenna about that too."
"That's fair." Michael gave a nod of approval, "You've got a start though. I told you, just don't overthink it. Whatever feels right."
"Thanks, Michael." Jeremy responded with a bit of a smile as the lunch bell rang, "I'll see you in English."
