Chloe was a bit fed up today. Because she was technically in tech as stage manager, that meant she was required to come to set building every single Saturday. Which meant every Saturday she had to watch Jake and Michael flirting with each other.
It'd be cute if they were actually getting their stuff done, but they weren't. Well, actually, Michael was getting his stuff done. Jake however was just distracting him, barely working on anything except for flirting.
Chloe had to put a stop to it. They were behind on set building, and it wasn't just Jake's fault, of course, but he certainly wasn't helping. So she walked toward him while he was chatting with Michael. "Hey, Jake? Can I talk with you for a second?"
Jake frowned, glancing back at Michael for a moment before giving Chloe his full attention, "Am I in trouble?"
"You will be if you don't come with me." Chloe's voice was firm, "It'll just take a minute."
Jake gave a nod and brushed himself off a bit before following her away from the stage. He didn't seem to get it, even crossing his arms as they stopped in the aisles of the auditorium, "Alright, what's this about?"
Chloe jabbed a finger in his direction, "Look, I'm really happy for you and for whatever you and Michael have going on, but you need to calm it with the flirting and shit. We're here to build the set, not talk, and we're really behind schedule. You're not getting your stuff done and you're distracting him from getting his stuff done."
Jake put his hands up immediately in defense while blush flared up in his face, "I- we're not even- I'm not flirting with him!" He was visibly embarrassed, "We're just talking, it's not flirting-"
"Whatever!" Chloe cut him off, though she didn't buy it at all. They were so painfully obvious about their feelings for each other, even if they hadn't discussed it and were still just friends, it was definitely flirting, "If you don't stop now, we're not gonna have the set finished in time. It's not just you, but you need to get your ass in the game now. Got it?"
Jake sighed, "Alright, got it, loud and clear."
Chloe nodded, and together they walked back to the stage to continue building the set. When she glanced over, Jake wasn't chatting with Michael anymore, instead painting a set piece. Good.
