How long has it been now? Two— no— three years?

Your suitcase dragged behind you on the pebbled ground, knocking against the rocks with every step you took. Its contents weren't full of your normal travel materials— it was full of hard work throughout your research.

You were sent away on an 'expedition' by the Sages of the Akademiya. They wanted more information about the ancient runes and mysteries across all of Teyvat. You accepted this task, not realizing how long you were going to be away from home for.

But now that the Sages were gone, was all that hard work... for nothing?

Your heels clicked at the steps of the Akademiya. You dragged your suitcase up, feeling the weight pull you down. The building didn't look different on the outside— at least, you had hoped it's what you remembered.

"Greetings." A guard watched you approach the entrance of the Akademiya, struggling to hoist your luggage onto the steps. "Can I assist you?"

You nodded your head. "Please."

He leaned his polearm on the pillar next to the door, walking over to you. Grabbing your suitcase, you watched him swiftly pick it up with ease.

You followed him up the rest of the steps, until he laid it down next to the pillar. "May I ask the reason for your visit?"

"I'm not visiting. I'm returning after my task that was assigned to me..." You said, grabbing the handle of your suitcase.

"Task?" He inquired.

"Yes. I've been gone for some time now, so I don't really know if my research is acceptable at this point..." You scratched the back of your head.

"I can take you to the front desk. Perhaps they can pull up your file?" He said.

"That would be greatly appreciated." You smiled.

Following his lead, you walked into the Akademiya nervously.

Would it be completely different than what you remembered? Maybe redesigned? Damaged? Vacant?

As you took a look at your surroundings...

It was exactly how you had left it.

"Here you are. I wish you a pleasant stay in Sumeru." The guard had walked you up to a long table at the entrance of the building. He bowed and took his leave, leaving you with another man dressed in student clothing.

"Hello. Are you an alumni?" He asked, looking at your foreign clothes.

"Yes." You nodded your head, pulling your suitcase to your side. "Y/N L/N."

"Got it. Let me check the files..." He knelt down, pulling a bin out from the bottom of the table. You waited patiently until his finger landed on a rather thick folder.

"Miss L/N..." You watched him sift through some documents. "...Salutatorian of XXX?"

"That's me." You smiled.
