Motives and Reasons

Sana and Envy travel through the empty void between worlds, moving at speeds unimaginable for any human being.

A portal, reminiscent to glass shattering opens, the broken pieces of the silky weave of existence scatter into the air, remaining frozen and still.

Sana floats above the ground as she exits the portal, gently stepping onto an replica of the field they were on moments ago. The reason why they landed here? It's because it's quite literally the same place, making it easier to locate in space.

Sana's gigantic body towers over everything around. Her shadow stretches across the field, cast by the bright sun as she crouches down and opens up her palms for Envy to step off onto the dirt.

"...Thank you, Sana." He says as looks up at her.

"With pleasure, Envy~ You know, I may even come to visit you from time to time~"

"...I advise that you don't."

"...But why?"

"...Don't, Sana."

"...hmm... whatever you say~" She doesn't seem to take his words seriously as she winks.

"...I'll be going back now, then~"

"...Understood." He nods as he slowly backs away, giving her space to stand up to her full height yet again.

"Bye, bye~" With a short wave of her hand, Sana walks back through the portal, the shards of apparent glass returning to their place in the fabric of reality.

"..." His eyes darken to their original look. Competely black, devoid of any life.

Without warning, his body starts to rise towards the sky. In a matter of seconds, he's beyond the clouds, soaring towards his destination. The Kingdom of Mankind, Cortesía.

The next morning.

Mumei is walking through Hololive HQ, looking for Envy, yet she doesn't know where he is.

"...Ugh, where is he?! A-chan, Gura, Bae... nobody knows! How does nobody know?!" She scratches her head, trying to think of any answer to her question, yet nothing comes up.

"...Haah..." She sighs audibly.

"...Maybe YAGOO knows something..."

She decides to ask the CEO for an answer. Not long after, she knocks at his door and a "Come in!" is heard from the other side.

Mumei does as told, entering and closing the door behind her as she steps up to YAGOO's desk, a worried look on her face.

"...Hello, Mumei. Please tell me quick."

"...Okay, sooo.... where's Envy? He just... up and disappeared?" She 'poofs!' with her hands, replicating an explosion or smokescreen.

"...Envy left. We had Sana take him back to his world yesterday."

Mumei's arms sit in place as she registers his words. Her gaze grow dark as she stares into his eyes.

"...You... what?"

"...Envy left, Mumei. Yesterday, we had Sana take him ba-!" He gets cut off as Mumei grabs him by the collar and pulls him over the desk, pressing a dagger against his throat at an inhuman speed, just barely not drawing blood.

"...You let him... go."

"...Calm down, Mumei. There's no need to a-..." He gets cut off yet again by the sternness of her voice as she speaks.

"...Shut up. Do you have... any idea... how much he mattered to me....?" Blood starts to drip down his neck as the blade inches closer to his jugular.
