A piercing sound is heard as a figure flies through the sky, far above the forests and oceans and followed closely by the sword at his side.

"..." He doesn't think or say anything as the wind blows past, pushing his hair up.

Soon, he arrives at a massive mountain, its towering peak whitened by snow.

He breathes in and raises his arms, closing his eyes as large streams of mana form in the air, forming around him.

It seeps into his skin, into his mouth and into his nostrils, being absorbed into his body to nurture him.

"...I have to do this." He thinks to himself, feeling more and more refreshed by the second.

"...Vulcan is helping Mind... she doesn't care about him. I'd like to think that..."

Arcs of electricity begin to show on Envy's skin, jumping from the tips of his fingers to his arms, to his shoulders and all towards his back.

"...he wants to live, but I killed Laetitia. Even if he did, I doubt he'd help me. Which means..."

More and more current flows through his body, reaching towards the sword that floats behind him.

"...I have to kill him."

The sword starts to glow, heated up by the massive amount of energy that's flowing into it.

"...It's time to do some testing. I need to be ready to fight Mind. She'll be cheating this time, too..."

He opens his eyes, the mana dissipating into the air as the electricity finishes being pumped into the sword.

"...I'm sorry, Vulcan, but I need to do this."

He puts his feet together, lowering his arms and straightening his posture.

In a flash, he's touched down onto the dirt, leaving only a booming sound and his sword to accompany him, leaves and bushes rustling with his unannounced appearance.

He looks forwards, towards a large pile of rocks at the base of the mountain.

"...This is it." He thinks to himself before lifting his right arm up.

He swings it to the right and all of the rocks fly in that direction, revealing the entrance to what appears to be a broken-down mine.

He walks inside, taking notice of the humid atmosphere and the creaking sound of the wooden supports which hold everything up.

The deeper he goes, the darker and more decrepit it gets, until finally... he reaches a split road.

He closes his eyes, sending a current down both sides, probing them.

"...Left." He decides, quickly stepping with the weapon behind him floating after.

He continues moving, reaching yet another split path, but this time, the right path is blocked by a pile of rocks.

"...Trying to throw me off-track by changing it, huh? If I chose the left, I'd keep going until I got lost. That's how they built this place. By putting the entrance near the beginning, so you get lost at the end."

He scoffs, smirking slightly as he internally applauds their thinking.

"...But that won't stop me." His smirk disappears without a trace.

He raises his hand, opening it up before yanking it back, the boulders and rubble blowing past him abruptly in response.

The path continues, yet this time, there are lit candles on the wooden support beams.

He keeps walking, eventually turning a slight corner to come face to face with a line of cannons manned by short, tanned and extremely muscular men.

They wore exactly what you'd expect from a miner, heavy-duty boots that reach up to their knees, brown leather cargo pants, no shirt to reveal their musculature and a large, braided beard and hair aided by constantly narrowed eyes.

"FIRE!" The one in the middle screams out, to which the rest respond by bringing a candle to the rear end of the cannons, lighting a piece of rope.

"...Useless." Envy raises his open hand, balling it up into a fist.

The barrels of the cannons instantly cave in on themselves just as the rope burns out.

The gunpowder inside explodes... and so do the cannons, rendering them completely blown to bits.

Envy then starts to walk forwards again.

"...F-fuck! MOVE IT, YOU DUMBASSES!" The one in the middle yet again screams out, taking off running as fast as his little legs can take him, but only for a few steps as he finds himself floating up along with the others with him.

"...What did Vulcan tell you?" Envy's voice is heard as they all go silent, being pushed against the ceiling.

They look down at him as he looks up at them, his hand now lowered.

"...W-what?" Is all the one who was in the middle could muster.

"...I asked, what did Vulcan tell you?"

"...Do you think I'd tell you?!" He screams out.

"...You will." Envy says, the man in the middle falls to the ground roughly, his head hitting the floor with a bang.

Envy grabs him by the hair with one hand, lifting his gaze to his own as he cups his chin with the other.

"...Tell me if you want to live." Envy commands, his eyes jet-black.

"...I WON'T TELL YOU JACKS-..." He's interrupted as Envy takes his hand off his chin and shoved it into his mouth, grabbing his lower jaw and tearing it out.

"...Wrong. Fucking. Answer." He lets go of him, letting the man fall to the ground, unable to make another sound as he ruthlessly stomps his head in.

Envy raises his look towards the ceiling, to the other men.

"...What's your choice? Will you die, or will you give up?" He asks, a heavy rasp in his voice.

They all stay silent, unsure of what to say.

"...There's no place for you besides Riqueza, is there? This is your home... you don't want to leave it, do you?"

The don't answer, not wanting to strike a match and start a fire.

"...Answer. You've seen what I can do."

"...I-it's true..." One reluctantly answers, swallowing a lump in his throat.

"...Do you want to die?"

"...No, no!" The same one responds, shaking his head in fear.

"...Good, then leave. I am only interested in Vulcan." He lets them fall to the ground, hitting it with a thud.
