Watchful eyes

Cloaked in the shadows of the night, the two stare into each other's eyes intently.

Drip by drip, a downpour begins. Rain water falls down the brick walls sorrounding them, their hair sticking to their skin.

"...Let's move already." Envy breaks the silence between them.

"...Why though? Why not just... stay a while longer?"

"...Because you and I made a deal. One you should fulfill." His frown deepens.

"...Do you want to know something?"

"..."

Shiori stands on the tip of her toes, lifting her chin to speak into Envy's ear, her breath wafting over the flesh.

"...I know what you're afraid of~"

"..." His right fist clenches.

"...I know you're afraid that the girls will care for you. I know that you're afraid of hurting them."

She giggles seductively, snaking her hands around his back, feeling his warm body under her touch.

"...You don't want them to lod you dear... because you're going to die soon. Just like every other... scenario."

"...How do you kn-!"

He's cut off by Shiori's fangs suddenly piercing the skin of his neck. She pulls them out, a string of saliva stretching from her lips to the bite mark.

"...Mm..." She licks her lips clean of the blood.

"...Always wanted to do that... just like in vampire stories~" She giggles yet again.

"...You're a freak." He frowns in disgust at her actions.

"...Hehe... oh, I am, but... I know why I did that."

She leans close to his ear another time, breathing more heavily than before.

"...It wasn't just curiosity, Envy~"

"..." He doesn't answer, instead, he just stares at her as she pulls away, a gleeful smile on her face as she twirls, stepping in a puddle of liquid and splashing it on the concrete ground.

"...Ahaha..." A short laugh leaves her lips as she thinks about what's next to happen, looking high towards the sky.

"...I can't wait... ooh, maybe I should save him~? Not let him die~? Maybe... keep him for myself?" She comes to a stop, going back to staring at him.

"...What?" He growls out, his voice deepening considerably.

"...Oh, nothing. Just thinking about a few things~"

"...Definitely~" She concludes.

"...C'mon, let's get a move on." She suddenly starts to walk out of the alley, taking big steps out of joy and entertainment.

"...Alright." Envy follows after, a discontent look on his face as he watches the girl prance around happily.

The two walk through the bustling city, heading towards Hololive HQ.

"...Making Envy mine... mine, hm~? Talking to him... reading together... studying him... touching him... becoming... one?"

Her curiosity spikes for him as she watches him out of the corner of her eye.

"...Maybe even getting to see Fauna's, Mumei's reactions~?"

Thinking of them, she was reminded of something.

"...Oh! Right, I should check..." Shiori pulls out her book, turning multiple pages before stopping at a specific page, her eyes narrowing slightly as she reads.

"..." She stops walking.

Envy stops walking as well, staring at her. He can't read her book after all.

"...What is it?" He asks.

"..." Shiori lifts her head, glancing at him for a moment before looking back.

"...Don't worry. I think you should go take a walk through the national park." She says, her voice lacking in her usual confidence.

He looks back as well, in the direction of the park.

"...Why?"

"...I'll go bring everybody." She starts walking again, moving at a faster pace.

"...She was watching us the entire time... I thought she'd still be asleep! She saw me..."

"...Tch." he clicks his tongue as he watches her pace away, turning back again.

"...Fine." He starts to walk in that direction and soon enough, he's reached the national park.

Walking down a paved road, he feels encircled by an eerie feeling, as if he's being watched.

"...Fauna." Is the word that comes to mind as he hears a voice call out from between the trees.

"...Hello, Envy." Her voice, as sweet as honey, is accompanied by the stark contrast of the cold and dark atmosphere.

Her golden eyes shine in the darkness as she stares into his very soul from afar, standing in between the rows of trees that forms the foliage surrounding him.

It feels like millions of eyes are tracking his every movement, like every blade of grass and every leaf is another of her golden oculi.

"...Shouldn't we get that little 'mark' cleaned up?" She speaks yet again, yet doesn't move an inch closer, as if inviting him to come closer, to step into the woods.

"...What mark?" He tilts his head.

"...The one on your neck. The one... she... left." She restrains herself from calling Shiori anything.

"...How do you know about that?"

"...Why does it matter, Envy?" She tilts her head as well, not having blinked one since the moment they met.

"..." He blinks, off-put by her words and mannerism.

"...Envy, I know... you like to go off on your own, but..." She starts to walk towards him, having given up on getting him to walk over by himself.

"...I hate it. It makes me feel like..."

She's getting closer and closer, her bare feet on the green ground making no sounds at all as they continue to keep eye contact.

"...You're just forgetting about me. And you know that..."

She's almost upon him...

"...I hate it when I'm alone~"

She's finally reached him, standing face to face and looking up to meet his gaze.

"...So, that's why I want you to understand that you... are mine." She lifts an arm to his head, grabbing him by the back of the skull as the other arm creeps around his back. She lifts her chin, standing on the tip of her toes to reach his ear as she speaks.

"...No one else's. No one." She whispers with an edge of anger.

"..." Envy doesn't make a sound as she continues holding her monologue.

"...I hope you understand. I truly do." She pulls back slightly, but doesn't let go, instead, she lowers herself to his mouth.

"..." She silently presses her lips against his, moving both arms to cup both of his cheeks.

They fall into a kiss, one that Envy... won't stop. If he does... how does he know Fauna doesn't have a game plan?

"...I love how quickly you pick up on it, Envy~" She breaks the kiss for a moment to breathlessly utter those words.

"..." He doesn't answer.

She reinitialises the kiss, continuing it with passion... until a voice calls out from behind Envy.

"...What... is this?"
