Summary: A Grimwalker, rather than being new, is simply reassembled after having died

He slowly opened his eyes with a groan, slowly adjusting to the light. He pulled himself out of the dirt the rest of the way. He tried to stand, but just fell back down.

"Don't try to get up too fast. You need to adjust first." A voice softly said from the side of the room.

He turned to look at the person. They looked like they had been crying with dry tear streaks on their face and eyes red at the edges.

They ran up and hugged him tightly, but he shoved them off in surprise.

"W-who are you?" He slowly said, voice raspy from not talking in a long time.

"Right," they grumbled, "You don't remember."

"Re-remember what?"

"Sorry," they said, voice much more chipper, "My name is Willow Park. And your name is Hunter."

"I...don't have a last name?"

"It's complicated."

They sat for a moment looking at each other.

"What do you mean I don't remember?" Hunter slowly asked.

Willow sighed nervously with a slight chuckle.

"Well, that's also complicated. But none of that matters. You're okay now! But, um, you weren't before. You got hurt. Really badly."

After a few moments of thinking, the realization hit Hunter. He looked down at himself and saw the clothes he was wearing, while dirty and torn, also looked very formal.

"I died, didn't I? I was dead and even buried?" He asked, trying to keep and even tone.

"Yeah. But, you're back! You're okay now. A-and we can get your memories back. I just need to get that magnifying glass and an illusionist."

"Illusionist?"

"Right! Heh, I keep forgetting how little you know. And illusionist is someone who practices illusion magic. It's one of the nine types of magic. I'm in plant, and there's also abomination, potions, bard, beast keeping, construction, oracle, and healing."

"What magic can I do?" Hunter asked, getting interested in the talk about magic.

"You...can't really do magic. You don't have a bile sack. But with a staff you can! Palismen have magic naturally. Oh, palismen are like companions carved from palistrom wood. But it's super rare these days."

Hunter looked around the room he was in. It looked like a large cave filled with balls of light. The walls looked like they were patchworked together rather than forming like that naturally. There were a few tables that had books and various materials strewn on them. In the back was some shattered machine. As well as a damaged brown wooden box.

A coffin.

Hunter slowly shifted and tried to stand again, with help from Willow. She helped him stand as he shuffled over to one of the tables with a large book opened. He began to scan through it.
