Summary: Instead of Eda protecting her, Luz got taken by the guard and Eda just ran when Luz first arrived. And once Emperor Belos heard about a human, he knew he had to get his hands on her
Luz panicked as her eyes frantically looked around the landscape. One moment she was chasing an owl, and then she was standing on the cliff in some crazy place filled with monsters. She jumped as a little when a small fairy came up to her, but relaxed seeing its cute appearance.
"Oh, hello little fairy. Are you going to tell me this is all a fantastical dream?" She asked, voice shaking.
"Give me your skin!"
Luz yelped and smacked the fairy down. Immediately, she went back to panicking.
"Where am I? Did I die? Am I in the bad place?"
A hand grabbed her by the shoulder. Luz turned to see the woman who nearly burned her book.
"You wish."
The woman dragged her through her tent, back to the other side and threw her on a stool in front of the display table.
"I'm so sorry! I just wanted my book! If you're going to eat my skin, just make it quick. Just do it now!" Luz said, offering up her arm and closing her eyes tight.
"Eat you? Why would I eat a potential customer!"
Luz opened her eyes, confused. She looked at the woman as she began grabbing random things.
"Can I offer you a human foot filled with holes? A green bar of human candy? Oh! What about this black shadow box that reflects only sadness?"
Luz stared for a second, before chuckling.
"That's not all it can do. Here, let me see it."
Luz took it and inserted some batteries that were sitting on the table. The small tv began playing an old workout video.
"Voilà!"
The noise of the video began to get the attention of various demons around the market area. They all seemed fascinated by it and began bidding snails, a word which Luz assumed was the currency there.
"What did you say your name was?" The woman asked, turning to Luz.
"I'm Luz! Luz Noceda."
"Well Luz, that was pretty clever. For a human."
"That's kind of a weird thing for another human to say." Luz chuckles.
"Oh dear child," the woman ripped off her bandanna revealing pointy ears, "I'm not like you."
Luz was shocked and just more confused.
"I'm Eda the Owl Lady!" The woman announced, climbing onto the table, "The most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles!"
"A witch?" Luz gasps.
"I'm a respected, feared-"
"Busted!"
