Chapter 5

After lunch, Chaerin didn't take the offer of the tour of the building as she thought it wasn't necessary at all. Kiko followed her to lead her to their car.

"Thank you Miss Mizuhara you don't have to."

"ah... well I just have to say something."

"oh is it about the proposal? Did Secretary Choi forgot to give you the paper?"

"No Miss Lee it is not that. It's about the other thing. About..."

"oh! about Jiyong?"

"Yes about him. I was thinking of inviting you over lunch. I'll let him know as well that you are currently here. If it's okay with you."

"Sounds like a great plan. Is tomorrow okay?"

"yes! Definitely Miss Lee! I just need to have your number so I can give you the details."

"Sure."

Chaerin gave her personal number to Kiko then after that she and Seunghyun took the ride back to the hotel. Chaerin can't help but to smile with what's going on.

"Are you that happy to be smiling like that?"

"I just can't believe that Kwon Jiyong is just within my arms reach."

"Excited?"

"If I say no, I would be lying. You want to know why I'm excited."

"Why?"

"Because I want to know how well off is he with that woman. That he chose to leave his happiness over a little amount of money."

"Well, I'm pretty interested as well. Would you want me to conduct a little investigation?"

"If you can, please do. I want to be prepared with my battle tomorrow."

It was dinner time at Jiyong's apartment. He still not telling Kiko about his job because he knows for sure that he'll be dead meat when she found out. They were eating silently until Kiko broke it.

"Do you know someone named Lee Chaerin?"

It was out of the blue. Questions flooded Jiyong's mind. 'how'd she found out about her?' mainly was the question. His mouth was just left hanging and forgot how to react.

"Jiyong? You still with me?"

"oh. I'm sorry. W-why did you ask?"

"Well, apparently the big client I was talking about was her. She asked me why do I look familiar. Then she remembered you."

"She did?" Kiko raised an eyebrow with his response.

"Yes. She said she heard so much about me and that you both were practically best friends. Is that true?"

"S-somehow. Yes."

Jiyong couldn't hide that he is flustered with Kiko's sudden question. He began to think of the possibilities that she found out about him and Chaerin's real relation and he was falling slowly into Kiko's trap.

"Well I was thinking if we could have lunch together tomorrow and help me persuade her."

"What do you mean?!"

"She rejected our proposal. But she had given us 3 days to make another one. So I was thinking if you could meet her maybe her decision will change."

"She's a hard headed girl. Once she makes a decision that's it. I don't think meeting her would make any difference."

"We could at least try. Can you help me just this once? As far as I can remember this is the only time I asked any help from you. And besides without me you wouldn't be here at the first place!"

"Fine! I didn't say that I wouldn't do I? Stop your nagging."

Seunghyun found Chaerin at the balcony of her suite drinking wine while looking over the city lights.

"Do you have your plans tomorrow ready?"

"oh. Seunghyunnie~ not really. My mind is just blank."

"wow. That was first. There's always something going on with that head of yours."

"yah~ here. Have some."

Chaerin pour some wine for Seunghyun and refill hers.

"I've found some information about them. Where do you want me to start?"

"You can start with the woman."

"Alright. As of now, she is a regular employee and a representative on this company."

"A regular employee? They don't own the company?"

"Apparently not. They do have a family business, however it was now on the verge of bankruptcy and will fall anytime soon. They also have numerous bank loans with their house and building of the said business as collateral." Chaerin nods.

"Anything else? Anything personal?"

"well, I found where they are living and some of their neighbors said that they always hear her screaming and blaming her partner. And the last thing, she was very controlling according to them."

"*smirks* I could tell. How about for Jiyong?"

"For him, I found out that he worked for a low time telemarketing company as a representative."

"Worked? You mean he doesn't have a job?"

"Yes. He just got fired last week because of non performance."

Chaerin took a sip of her wine and began to think deeply. She analyzed all of the information provided by Seunghyun. 'She is now on the zone' Seunghyun thought. And he was right. Chaerin is now thinking of her plans for tomorrow. Then her cell phone rang. And it was the person she expected.

"Hello?"

"Good evening Miss Lee? This is Kiko Mizuhara. I'm sorry for calling at this time. But I was just wondering if you're still up to meet Jiyong for tomorrow."

Chaerin paused for a brief moment to look at Seunghyun. Signaling that it was Kiko who's calling.

"Of course! I wouldn't miss it. Do you have any time preferred?"

"Anytime you are available Miss Lee."

"I'm available whole day dear. This business trip deserves as my vacation as well."

"oh that's great! I'll message you the details."

"alright. I'll see you and Jiyong tomorrow then?"

"Yes. Thank you Miss Lee."

She hangs up the phone with her playful smile.

"Such a foolish girl who wants to kiss my butt. Seunghyunnie~ do you know how happy I am right now?"

"I can actually see that."

"I'll make sure he will feel the same pain I felt when he left me. It hurt so much that you wanted to take your own life and burry your own body."
