Anntonia's POV:

If someone is seeing how pathetic I look right now that I am just standing in front of the door and have seemingly no plans to even go out, they would probably assume that I am waiting for some magic to happen.

I exhaled one more time and held the paper bag containing the instant noodles even tighter.

Come on, Anntonia. Of course you can face her.

I nodded at my own encouragement and opened the door. I stepped outside and made sure that it was locked before I started walking.

It feels so heavy. It just feels like there is literally something whispering at me that something has shifted.

Just when I was battling with my own thoughts, I saw Samantha approaching me in her pajamas. She probably just woke up.

"Anntonia!" She yelled to get my attention. I stopped walking and stayed in my position to wait for her.

"Hey! About to grab breakfast?" She cheerfully asked while fixing her hair into a messy bun.

"Yes. How about you?"

She clung to my arms and tugged me to the buffet area. "Same! I was planning to join the girls, but I woke up late."

"Late? It's just around 8 in the morning, right?"

"I mean, yeah. But the girls always wake up at 4 a.m. for yoga exercises. You know, habits." She calmly explained. I just nodded and stayed silent until we reached the actual place.

"Girls!!" Samantha exclaimed when she saw her group of friends. Her hands slid into my right hand and pulled me so that I could catch up.

We reached their table, and all of them had their plates ready for their breakfast, but not Max.

Because her plate is empty, and she's staring fiercely at me.

"Girl, what took you so long? You haven't even changed your clothes!" Janina commented to Samantha.

"Don't mind it! My stomach is growling and I still have a hangover, okay?" Samantha said, shushing her best friend.

"Talk about hangover; of course Rhian is the main character." Janina commented again. It's literally her and Samantha who are making this group loud. Rhian is busy messing up with the veggies on her plate using the fork, as she looks like she's still dizzy and out of her awakened state.

"Sit, you two! Sam, it's great you brought Anntonia with you!" Janina said while tapping the chair beside her to invite me. "You can sit here!"

I smiled and took the seat beside Janina and Samantha followed. Rhian looked at me and cheekily smiled. I laughed at her and she pouted at me, completely getting that I laughed at her because she looks like she has zero energy.

So, yes. I am trying so hard not to pay attention to Max.

"Can I ask something?" I slightly leaned towards Samantha. I still feel quite awkward around them, but Samantha somehow helps me to adjust to their group's vibe.

Samantha stopped pouring the syrup into her pancake and nodded to allow me. "Sure, sure. Anything." She even sweetly responded.

"Where is Michelle?" I carefully asked because I did not want to be misinterpreted.

Samantha looked at me and saw the empty seat beside Rhian and Max. She also searched the whole place to look for her, but she also saw no traces of Michelle.
