Fabienne's POV:
Something's off. There must be something really off.
Since yesterday morning, when we finally landed in Mexico, I've felt a sense of urgency to look after my three best friends. Papao might be quite distant, which I clearly understand, but I think it's just right for me to prioritize them too.
However, Michelle was acting strangely. She was okay before the flight started. But when her National Director came to her, she became so off. Their conversation was audible for me, but I couldn't understand because they weren't speaking in English.
I didn't want to jump in to conclusions and meddle with other people's business, so I just rested the entire time. I also planned not to unpack my things because three days weren't that long, and it would just be a hassle if I did.
When we reached the hotel, Michelle went to a restaurant. She said she would grab a food for Anntonia. I told her that I'd assist Anntonia with her things so she shouldn't worry about anything.
When everything was settled in Anntonia's room, I diverted my attention to her, silently sitting in the chair near the window. The sunlight was reflecting perfectly on her. Not to mention, she looks so different when she's focused and serious.
She looks really pretty. I hadn't noticed that she was this captivating. No wonder why Michelle has genuine feelings for her.
"Thank you for your help, Fab," she sincerely said without looking at me. I just hummed in response as I tried to arrange her belongings neatly. "You love organizing," she said as if it was a realization.
"Didn't know you noticed." I said, smiling. She really is observant. "Will you be alright here?"
"Are you leaving already?"
"I was about to," I responded.
"Oh, yeah. I'll be okay! You have to rest too."
"Actually, no..." I said as I made myself comfortable on the floor with my back resting against the closet door. "I'll accompany you until Michelle comes."
"Silly, there's no need," she said, standing up from her seat. I did the same and went near her to offer a hug before I left.
"Fine. I'll get going. I have to try their famous Mexican coffee nearby."
"Are we allowed?"
"I'm with my road manager— my Mom, to be exact. So, yes."
"Okay. Enjoy! Thanks for the help!" I returned a smile to her and swiftly left their room before heading to the stairs because I am in the mood for some healthy practice.
When I was going down, I saw the figure of Michelle. I was about to approach her, but I heard that she was on call with someone. I decided to leave her alone and continue with my agenda.
It really is a great day for coffee.
When I reached the place, Mom was already seated. She was really easy to recognize despite the thick layers and hat she was wearing.
"Mother!" I attempted to surprise her. My mom almost dropped her phone at the table, so she slightly smacked my arms. "My apologies," I said and approached her for a forehead kiss.
"Take a seat. The aroma has been tempting me since earlier."
I smiled upon hearing her voice. She really is the sole reason why I am still pushing myself to continue in everything.
Thus, explains the semicolon necklace I have been wearing since I was 17 years old.
"Shall we order?" I asked before raising my hand to call the waiter. In all fairness, this place looks more like a restaurant than a coffee shop. The place is giving ancient western vibes.
