Anntonia's POV:

"Alright, girls. Please settle down because I have an announcement." The head supervisor, who will be in charge in taking care of us during our entire stay in Mexico, entered the plane and waited for us to take our respective seats.

"Okay, so... unfortunately, Miss Lebanon and Miss Germany won't make it with us because their national directors had a discussion with us, and it's something confidential, so I request your understanding." The girls nodded in acceptance, and everyone seemed to understand the situation.

"However, we asked for two substitute candidates to complete the seven women request of Miss O. We will wait for them. I believe they will be here in a while."

"May I know who are the possible substitutes?" Michelle had the courage to ask.

"It's Miss Indonesia and Miss Laos, if I am not mistaken. That's what I heard from Miss O earlier."

"Alright. Thank you!" Michelle, who was sitting in front of me, cheerfully thanked the head supervisor before the woman stepped out of the plane again. "I knew it." Michelle happily whispered.

"You knew what?" I asked with curiosity.

"Fabienne left earlier than the actual time she told me a few days back, and because I was a bit in denial, I assumed that there's something up." Michelle patiently explained.

"You manifested it." I said, radiating the same happiness as hers because I really do feel a hint of separation anxiety from my roommate. I was already used to having her with me.

"Do you think they will be roommates?" Michelle leaned forward so no one else would hear her question.

"If ever, do you want me to switch rooms with Fabienne? I mean, you're probably u--"

"That doesn't make sense. I wanted you kaya." Michelle quickly disagreed. I secretly grinned, feeling satisfied with her response.

"Fine. That was just a suggestion."

"Don't you want me?"

"I do. Okay, I'm sorry. I don't mean it that way. I'd love to be your roommate, that's for sure." I assured to erase the sudden sad expression that she was showing me.

We stayed silent after a while because I was already feeling a bit sleepy again, and Michelle was busy fidgeting with her hands. I do not know where she was looking though, because she was wearing her shades.

I wanna bash her for wearing such accessory when we're clearly inside an air vehicle already, but again, it's her trademark. She does look good though, so let's just let the woman.

My eyes are quite closing, but I was trying not to sleep just yet because I might miss something. I saw how the side of Michelle's lips rose up, so I opened my eyes and observed her more.

"Are you watching me?"

"Yes." She paused and removed her sunglasses. "Why are you stopping yourself kasi? You can rest, Aurora."

"Aurora?"

"Because you're still awake. I'll call you sleeping beauty later."

I made face to show her that I was disgusted by her playful words but deep inside, I wanna pinch her cheeks for being so silly.

"Corny."

"Everything I say is corny to you." She said in a tiny low voice and rested her back on the chair she was occupying as she crossed her arms.

"What a kiddo." I whispered before opening the bottle of water beside me. I hydrated myself so that I could sleep peacefully during the flight. I was about to doze off to sleep when a familiar figure entered the plane. My eyes brightened when I saw our friends. I looked at Michelle, who was also smiling widely and was planning to stand up. I attempted too, but the Miss Universe President suddenly appeared behind them and went to her seat immediately.

The girls stayed silent, and no one dared to greet her because she looks like she's having an argument with someone over the phone.

"Oh my!!!" Fabienne excitedly mouthed and ran towards me to give a warm hug. I embraced her tighter to show her that I missed her.

"What a fate! I thought you left without letting me say a word." I complained. She just laughed at me and stole a few glances at Papao, my roommate, before answering me.

"I thought I had to leave early! I didn't know that I would be chosen." Fab rubbed my back before she went to Michelle, and they embraced one another like they are high school friends who just got reunited after years. I looked at my roommate dearly and opened my arms to welcome her.

"Missed you!"

"I miss you, best roomie! I'm so proud of you." She congratulated me. I was stopping myself from getting emotional because I know I'll just be crying till I look so ruined.

"It's the four of us. Omg!" Miss Laos whispered at me as she squeezed my hand like she's anticipating the trip.

"I know! This would be fun!"

"But anyway, I think I'm missing something about you girls." Miss Laos said with a teasing voice as she looks at me and Michelle, who was still messing with Fab, simultaneously.

"Ah... I'll tell you if I got her permission."

"Huh?"

"I mean, I need to know if she's comfortable with letting people know," I explained and looked at Dee and Fabienne lovingly. They can pass as our best buddies since childhood, to be honest.

"I do understand. But okay? So you mean there's something that happened?"

"Well, there... there might be progress."

I got shy when Miss Laos pretended like she's crowning me, and that caught the attention of the two. "What's with the crowning moment?" Fabienne asked.

"Shut up. I'm catching up with my girl here."

"I fear you might have to come with me because the flight will be starting in a few, and we have to go to our seats already." Fabienne fought back, making Papao scratch her jaw in annoyance.

"The constant banter looks familiar." I teased, realizing that Michelle and I used to be each other's reason of our own loss of temper.

"That's scary."

"Miss Laos!"

"What's with the noise?"

I felt a secondhand embarrassment when Miss Anne suddenly took a peek at us in our area from her seat. Fabienne was quick to hide behind Michelle's seat, and Papao was already shutting her eyes closed.

Miss Anne didn't bother to ask anymore when no one responded. Fabienne looked around and silently apologized to everyone. The girls seem like they find her funny.

Miss Laos then waved her hand at me and pulled Fabienne to their seats when the pilot's voice was heard over the entire place.

"Are you comfortable?" Michelle asked before leaning to see if everything is safe around me.

"Yes. I want to sleep."

"Go on, Anntonia."

"But you're looking."

Michelle wore her sunglasses again and covered her body with my pink blanket. "I don't look like I am looking anymore."

"Fine." I said and also wore the blue neck pillow that Michelle let me borrow. It feels very comfortable and soft. It eases my body pain somehow.

I closed my eyes to take my well-deserved sleep before we reach Mexico.
