(Age 19)

It's been a year since I left my everything behind. And life couldn't have been harder for me. I had been pushed into the real world.

A world where everyone was a predator. A world which was ruthless and merciless. A fast paced world if you don't keep up with others you would ultimately get trampled others and would be left behind to rot.

I had developed insomnia. The sleeping pills stopped working three months ago. So, I switched to something stronger. Opium to get the sleep I needed. To dull my mind. To numb it. To kill the pain that my heart felt from my brain functioning.

It's a good thing to be a medical student I guess. I had a way to get opium.

Everything that I had lost kept haunting me.

I lost my privileges.
I lost my family name.
I lost my parents.
And I also lost the girl who meant the world to me.

The only ones I had left were my siblings. Aarav was too small to help me or realise what were the circumstances of the situation. He didn't know why our parents had kicked out his older brother. He didn't know anything and that made him stop talking to our parents all together.

What our parents had done to me was the most cruel thing that anyone could do according to him.

Whereas Amara had grown more mature than before. My sister had always been a silent and compassionate person. She was the most shielded in our family. The one who didn't know how to solve her problems. The one who always depended on me since she was a baby. Who couldn't see anyone hurt.

In a year she had changed completely. She seemed more silent. More reserved than she was before.

Especially after the scandal with Aman Gulhati. She had developed dissociative disorder. She started to forget things that harmed her. She shielded herself. She distanced herself from everyone. She left the country due to scandal while papa tried to crush the scandal with all his influence.

She had come to me. She had come to get away from her misery but got caught up in my misery.

Amara started her Bachelor in Business Administration in London School of Business. She stayed busy with assignments and projects during the day and at night she stayed busy taking care of her drunk brother.

"Bhai. Stop drinking."
"Evara? You came?"
"Bhai... I am Amara. Not Eva-"
"Will you ever forgive me darling?" I asked clutching onto the sleeves of her long sleeved shirt. Fresh pain throbbing in my heart. Desperately wanting her to say yes.
I felt her fist onto shirt and shivering in tears while holding me tightly.
"Bhai... stop. Stop hurting yourself." Amara cried while placing me down on my bed.
"Princess?" I asked finally coming to my senses.
"Sleep. Bhai...Sleep." I heard my sister trying to soothe me into sleeping. And my eyes shut by themselves.
