"Atharva."I felt my hair being brushed back from my face softly and almost calmly. It was so gentle and peaceful that I felt my stomach flip at the familiar touch, scent and voice.
"Hmm." I nuzzled my face in her hair feeling that subtle scent of lavender.
"Your parents are in the room. Wake up." Evara whispered.
My eyes snapped open to see my mother with her phone camera pointed at my face. And my father stood there his hands in his pockets and a small smile on his face.
"What are you both doing here?" I yelped after falling down from the bed while trying to getting down.
"Careful!" Evara looked at me with widened eyes and a stern look crossing her feature.
"Yeah Atharva you are twenty six. Not six. Stop giving my daughter a hard time." Maa laughed and I looked at her betrayed.
"I don't act like a six year old. Oh please." I gasped and pointed a finger at her accusing her of defamation and spreading rumours.
"I have video and photo evidences to back up what I am saying Sona. You still sleep like a baby." She giggled and then looked at papa and pinched his cheek.
"Just like this man. I may have carried you in my belly for nine months but you are literally his carbon copy in looks." She cooed at the slight frown that appeared on my father's face.
"He got your attitude though love." Papa said finally getting out of her brutal pinch.
"Oh shut up. If he had your attitude he wouldn't have been able to charm my Evara. Have you seen anyone who compliments your attitude?" She asked crossing her arms in front of her chest.
"Yes, I have someone who does compliment me for my attitude." Papa said with a teasing smile and maa's eyes widened.
"Who is that bitch?! Doesn't she know you are married and have three adult kids and a very much alive and beautiful wife?" Maa gasped for air as if she was getting asthma.
Papa wrapped his arm around her waist pulling my mother closer to himself and laughing genuinely at her very real problem.
"Don't you compliment me, Love." He brushed his nose against hers and she flushed a deep shade of red and looked away at me and Evara who were looking at them in silence.
She pushed papa away almost immediately.
"There are kids here, Anu." She mumbled in an embarrassed tone.
"They are married. And are adults."
"Still." Maa whined and papa shook his head and walked up to us."Did you sleep comfortably?" He asked placing his hand over Evara's head something he did to Amara.
She nodded looking around for a moment after confirming that he was indeed talking to her.
"This doctor clinging on to you didn't hurt your hand?" He asked looking at me with a take care of my daughter look.
