I'm getting married the day after tomorrow.

I'm getting married to Atharva Roy the day after tomorrow!

I'll be Evara Atharva Roy from the day after tomorrow onwards.

I only loved once, been with only man and I'm getting married to him the day after tomorrow.

.

Am I nervous?

Yes.

Am I scared?

Yes.

Am I excited?

Yes.

I'm nervous because I will be someone's wife and be responsible for his happiness, sorrows and everything he'd feel. I have to be there for him, I have to take care of him and his family and I have to sacrifice most of the things.

I'm scared because my lifestyle is different than Atharva's and I might disturb his household. I might look too different in his world. His parents like me for now but what if they don't like me later?

And I'm excited because I am finally going to start my life with the person I love the most. I can't wait arrange our room according to liking, I can't wait to cook for him, I can't wait to argue on what color curtains would suit the house. And I can't wait to scold Atharva because he act like a brat even when we're mature and married now.

Hm,

Everything will change tomorrow. I have to leave my home, my Maa, my Papa and rest of my family and live with someone completely new. Even though I know Atharva and his family for so long, I still feel nervous.

Every Indian girl must have felt it before marriage. No matter how good is In-laws or how good is the husband, they feel nervous somehow. Marriage is happiness but also sadness of leaving your childhood house. Marriage is start of new but also closing the old. Marriage is entering into new place but also leaving your comfort zone.

As a girl,

I always had this dreamy thoughts about marriage but now that I'm actually getting married, I'm nervous.

.

"Your hands are sweaty, Eva. What's wrong?" Ishani asked as she stood beside me. "Are you okay?"

Ishani and I were standing in front of the huge dance stage. A stage decorated with blinding lights, flowers and confetti. Party songs were playing loud on the speakers while my people are getting ready to dance on the dance floor.

Tonight is my sangeet.

A wedding part where all the family perform dances and have fun. It's not a ritual but where there is an Indian wedding, sangeet is must.
