"Ew." Jasper pulled a grimace as the sap of the Sopophorous bean, he was trying to cut open before, slowly drips all over his fingers.

"Merlin what are you doing?" Alice sighed while looking at Jasper's hands with disappointment.

Herbology was the only class the three had together and since they had to do a partnered task for three people, they immediately took the opportunity.

Cass rolled her eyes before cleaning up the mess with a swoosh of her hand, "Professor Sprout said to cut it open and not press the juices out. We gotta draw the insides, how are we supposed to do that with this?" Cass snorted while holding up the completely destroyed Sopophorous bean, "How did you even manage to destroy it like that? It looks awful." She let out a short laugh in amusement.

"You know what," Jasper put the knife aside and took a small step back from the table, "I blame my dad. He told me to focus on defense and not bloody Herbology. Besides, I don't need it for a job in the ministry." He shrugged, "So why should I cut open a bloody Sopophorous bean and draw its insides?" He asked, agitated.

Neither of the girls had an answer for that.

"Right, I forget that you wanna be in the ministry." Cass shook her head before turning her attention to Alice, "That reminds me, have you thought about a subject you wanna teach later on? I'm sure that Dumbledore would give you any position you want."

"Well I was thinking of Charms actually." Alice shrugged briefly.

"That fits pretty good." Cass tipped her head to the side for a moment in agreement.

It was quiet for a few minutes as Alice and Cass tried their best to each cut open a bean so they would be faster.

They had worked with Sopophorous beans at the beginning of the year in potions when they tried to brew a draught of living death. And ever since then, the whole year 6 loathed them deeply.

Jasper leaned his elbows onto the table to support his head all of a sudden and looked up at the girls, "Guys," He said to get their attention, "do you think my daddy issues made me bi?"

Cass furrowed her brows in confusion on why he would ask something like this in the middle of Herbology. On the other hand, his brain worked in mysterious ways so she shouldn't have even wondered. She let the question sink in for a moment before she sighed, not knowing an answer.

"Well, my dad was never there to show me what makes a good man or a good partner so I suppose my daddy issues made me gay." Alice shrugged as if it were the most normal thing to say in a lesson about beans.
