"Angelina, I know you are having a moment with your sister, but do you think we can get a move on now? Connor can be a bit unpredictable and could change his mind about letting us go," Hallee said.
Angelina looked to Hallee for a moment before turning her gaze to Connor and Equin. "Remember Connor, you promised to bring my sister down to the town to visit when you come to the bar. Please don't go back on your promise to us."
"I won't. Even if I wanted to Equin here won't allow me to go back on my promise. She will give me hell if I try," Connor explained.
"You're damn right I would," Equin said before turning her gaze to her sister. "You be good. Keep Gail from chasing customers off. And don't let Cayden make his way up here to do something stupid."
"I'll try my best to keep Cayden from doing something as dumb as challenging Connor for you," Angelina said before turning to look Connor in the eye. "Don't do anything stupid to hurt my sister. If you do, then I will help Equin escape from you. I will make sure that she gets to a safe place where you will never see her again."
Connor growled, wrapping a protective arm around Equin's waist, causing Equin to turn her attention to him. "You won't ever take Equin away from me. Not unless you want to risk death. I will kill you before you even get the chance to take Equin off the grounds of my camp."
"Connor, calm down. There is no reason for you to be violent or threaten Angelina and her little friend," Equin said before turning her attention to Angelina again. "Angelina, I think it would be in your best interest to head back to Lupine Ridge now. I can't deal with this fight between you and Connor. Please go back and take care of Gail, John and Clara. And keep Cayden from doing something stupid like coming up here where he doesn't belong. Don't let him come up here and take me away from Connor. Connor and I have already mated and are together now. I can't leave him now, not that I want to. Please respect my decision for me to stay here and be a good mate to Connor. Help Cayden move on and find a mate who will love and cherish him as he should be. Now get going before Connor changes his mind about letting you and your friend go."
"No need to tell us twice. We were just planning on getting out of your hair now," Hallee said before grabbing hold of Angelina's arm, pulling her away. "Let's get going before we are thrown back into that damn cage and are kept locked away as the entertainment of Connor's boys who are not mated to someone. I don't know about you, but that doesn't sound like something that would be fun."
Angelina took one last look at her sister, looking to see if her sister was sure that she wanted to stay at Connor's camp along with him. Mentally Angelina was hoping that Equin would change her mind.
Equin shook her head no to Angelina, while Connor wasn't paying attention to them. Angelina turned around and followed Hallee out of the camp, making their way back to Lupine Ridge.
Cayden was pacing back and forth in front of John and Clara. "Why are we waiting to go and make our way to the camp and save Equin?"
"We not only risk our lives, and the lives of the people here in tow, but we risk Equin being killed by Connor out of rage. We have to be logical about this," John said.
"I agree with John. We don't want any senseless killings taking place," Clara said.
"Well, then we will wait until Gail shows up and gives us her input of what she feels is the right thing to do," Cayden said.
"In the meantime, why don't you help John to take your mind off of what's going on? While you do that, I will make dinner or something light for you boys to eat," Clara said before walking away, trying to avoid confrontation Cayden. Hopefully Gail manages to find Angelina. I hope that Angelina can talk some sense into Cayden and keep him from doing something that would put too many lives in danger, Clara thought to herself.
