Equin shook her head as both Gail and Cayden loaded Equin into the trust; Gail kept lookout in case Connor should make his way out of the bar and ask Gail what she and Cayden were doing.
"Cayden, maybe this is a bit risky," Gail said.
Cayden gave Gail an annoyed look. "Don't tell me that you're beginning to have second thoughts about this Gail. Are you seriously willing to hand your pregnant sister over to a man who will do nothing but hurt her and her pup?"
"No. But we need a backup plan. We already know that Connor will be pissed off when he learns she's no longer in the back room of the bar. But we also don't want to run the risk of Connor getting his hands on my sister either. No after all the stupid shit that we have already done to sneak her out of the bar without knowing. What I'm saying is, we alter the plan a little bit. That way my sister and her pup are guaranteed to be safe, until we get them out of here," Gail explained.
"What are you proposing we do then," Cayden asked.
Gail gave a reassuring smile. "Do you trust me?"
Gail pulled into the driveway of the old home that her grandparents owned, where Equin would like to run and hide in when things got too out of hand back at home.
Gail parked the truck, while taking the keys out of the ignition while speaking up. "Equin, I'm going to leave you in the truck for just a moment. I'm only heading up to the house to get the couch comfy for you. Stay here and don't do anything stupid to get us both in trouble. Actually, just to make sure that I know you don't do anything stupid, I'm gonna make sure that I know you don't do anything stupid. I'm going to lock the truck. I'll be back in five minutes to help you up the stairs to gram and gramps old place.
Gail got out of the truck making sure she locked the door, before making her way up the steps, leading to the old house that the Timmins sisters hadn't been to in quite some time. Gail was half way up the steps, when a growl stopped her in her tracks, causing her to look up with fear in her eyes.
"So, you thought you would be cute and try to take Equin away from me, thinking that I wouldn't know about it," Connor growled out.
"Connor...I-I was only trying to bring Equin to a place where she wouldn't pick up on the tension that was going on between you and Angelina. That kind of stress is not good for Equin or the baby," Gail explained.
"Very true, Gail. But I'm not an idiot like you make me out to be. I know you had every intention of taking Equin away from me, and keep both her and my pup from every coming around me again. You're afraid that I will turn my pup into a wild wolf, that doesn't abide by the town wolves' rules. Newsflash Gail, that pup is MY pup. I will raise it as I see fit. Now be a good little wolf that you are, and give my mate back to me, before I go and kill half of the residents in town," Connor said trying his best not to lose his patients with Gail.
"If you kill anyone in town, then you are breaking the peace treaty you signed. And you will be forfeiting your right to have Equin and her pup with you. Do you really want to risk that, Connor, Gail asked.
"Don't play games with me Gail, because you're already on the verge of breaking the treaty, by taking Equin and keeping her and my unborn pup away from me. Now be a good wolf and give my mate back, before I lose my temper and start my killing spree by heading to the only bar in town, and tearing Angelina apart first, before moving on to another innocent victim that is hanging around int he bar. And I won't stop until I have Equin by my side again," Connor growled at Gail.
"Right. If you really want my sister, she's in the truck," Gail said while making her way back to the truck, unlocking it, before making her way back up the steps, standing close to Connor. "Go ahead. Go grab my sister and bring her back to the mountains where you plan to basically keep Equin and her pup isolated anyway."
