Cayden and Angelina made their way back to Angel's hoping that they could have a bit of a peaceful moment. It didn't seem to last long though, because Gail made her way over to them, looking at Angelina with a mix of anger and concern. "Angelina, where have you been?"

"I got worried about Equin. It's not like her to not come back. So, I went wandering through the woods to see if I could find her," Angelina explained.

"Please tell me Connor didn't catch you or Cayden snooping around by his campsite," Gail said.

"Don't worry he didn't. But I worry about Equin's safety. I didn't see any sign of her at the camp. Carter Wills is dead. Connor and his group killed and ate him," Angelina said in a low tone, so she didn't set any of the customers on edge.

"I doubt Connor would go and kill Equin. Not after he made it quite clear to all of us that he wanted to mate her. It wouldn't make any sense for Connor to go and kill her. Unless he has her hidden from everyone, because he mated with her before her first heat. Oh my god. We need to get to that camp and make sure that Equin is alright. But we would have to do it while Connor is here at the bar. That would mean one of us would have to stay here while the others went on a dangerous mission of sneaking into Connor's camp, saving Equin," Gail said.

"I'll go. I already managed to find a way to sneak in. Besides, I wouldn't be any good at lying to Connor. You know as well as I do that I would crack under that kind of pressure. That and Connor was never able to get you to crack for anything. So, if he goes to ask you anything about my whereabouts, you will have a better chance at succeeding in lying to him," Angelina said to Gail.

"That's because Connor and I don't talk. He knows my feelings on him. They aren't exactly friendly. So, he does everything he can to keep from having to converse with me," Gail confessed. "Besides Angel, you suck at lying."

"And Equin doesn't," Angelina asked.

"Equin knows when to lie, just so she can save herself and those she cares about," Gail said. "Anyway, when are you planning on making the hike to Connor's camp? Don't want to wait too long to do it either. He will try to mate Equin as soon as possible."

"He wouldn't do that without a small audience. Not to mention, Connor would want to get under people's skin. Like those who have formed feelings for her, even though it was clearly stated that she's off-limits," Angelina said while passing a painful glance towards Cayden.

"I'm sorry. I can't help what my heart wants," Cayden said.

"Enough with the little child's quarrels. We need to remain focused. If we lose focus then Equin is royally screwed," Gail said.

"Gail is right. I won't subject my sister to being forced into something before it's meant to happen, though I wish it were someone else to mate her instead of Connor," Angelina said.

"We can't change that now, can we. We just have to fight Connor tooth and nail until we get Equin back," Cayden said.

"Are you bloody insane?!? If we go marching head on, Connor will only destroy us. Either that or he will move Equin to where we can't find her until after he's managed to mate her and convince her that he's the only one for her. We have to come up with a plan to put an end to all of this," Gail said.

Equin groaned as she began to wake. "Where the hell am I? Carter? Carter I'm going to freaking kill you!"

Connor walked in smiling as he heard Equin's threat. "Sorry babe. I already beat you to that pleasure."

"Of course, you did. Any reason to kill I guess," Equin said.
