The Final Battle, part 2
—————

It has begun.

The land itself was still and quiet, the wind that once tore through the trees to carry scent and sound ceased completely, the world holding it's breath as the apocalypse slowly approached. From the beach's grasp, the water was brushed aside, moved by seemingly nothing as a long tunnel was created, stretching into the depths.

From the darkness, eyes of many colors slowly emerged, Abyssals of all kinds walking through the opening of the ocean to the shores of the Philippines. Waiting for them at the beach's end was the one who summoned forth the vortex that gave them easy entry, the one they faithfully served with their lives.

Iowa stood unmoving, watching as more and more Abyssals came from the Void of the Ocean path. Each one was determined and ready, the glow of their eyes and the smiles on their faces ready to tear into flesh and rip apart bodies that dared stand in their way.

Soon, someone else came to Iowa's side, and looking over to who it was, Haku was by her side now and had given her a single nod. Iowa smiled and looked back to her gathered Abyssals, raising her fingers and drawing the eyes of all gathered there.

SNAP!!

The world suddenly was flush with sound once more, as the Abyssals sprang into action, rushing past her and Haku towards their newest target of Baguio, the last major hold for Humans on Luzon. All other places have either been sunken or raided, with very little survivors from the attacks, if any at all.

More and more Abyssals funneled out and ran into the Island, a veritable flood of white and black specters across the land. Soon the final Abyssals came through, and Iowa let the ocean flood back into place, sealing the way back from any Humans who dared to approach.

Turning to her best once more, she gave Haku a look over, no damage on her from any prior engagements. She returned the nod Haku gave her prior to the start, and with it, Haku backed away from her and turned away, running after the horde and catching up swiftly to them before vanishing as well.

Now alone, she started down the beach to walk along sand once more. It had been a while since she let herself roam the world above, and while she was fine with that, it didn't hurt to feel sand beneath her feet every now and then.

But this is not her only reason for being here.

A portal opened in front of her, and she walked right through to appear elsewhere, within the trees of the Island's many kilometers of forests. Black lightning sparked in her hand, soon growing and shaping as her Swordspear appeared once more in her grip, before she left the tree lines to see a small village, one that was ramshackled and shoddy, but seemingly recently constructed.

Yes, many of the smaller holdouts that people have created when their original homes were destroyed by the Abyssals. The drive to survive, even with such hostilities bearing down everyday, is something that impressed Iowa to no end.

The only thing she is impressed about, but not enough to make a difference.

None were looking her way as of yet, but as she raised her Swordspear above her head, the movement caught someone's eyes, and they almost immediately fell on their ass from their jump. Being on the floor only made it easier, and with a thrust, her Swordspear impaled the man through the chest, splitting his torso apart.

The sound of breaking bones alerted everyone else nearby, and the screams as they saw both the now dead man and Iowa no doubt was heard by everyone else. In response, Iowa's lips barely curved up in a cruel smile, as she raised her free hand into the air, wisps of shadows trailing in front of it.
