Smoke continued rising into the air, and standing on the surface of a newly minted section of Ocean, Haku smiled as the Earth Eaters sunk more of the lands and swallowed more of this Archipelago into the depths. Eventually, as there was still many humans desperately trying to fight against the current that was trying to tear them below the waves, what with the pull of the land from below them, she felt something latch onto her leg, something...disgusting.

She sighed and looked down to her foot, seeing a young woman grasping hard as she pulled herself out of the waves, coughing and gagging as she vomited up any water she had swallowed. She seemed not to have noticed what she was grabbing on, as she kept her gaze low for the time being, her mind occupied on the near death experience.

"Are you done?" She froze up, and slowly looked up to meet Haku's one eyed gaze staring down at her.

She looked horrified beyond belief, and behind those eyes, Haku noticed her spark to continue fighting on swiftly vanished. Of course it would in this situation, you're out of energy and fighting the ripping currents by holding an Abyssal's leg, what could you do other than accept death?

She opened her mouth, possibly to say something to Haku, before her tail lashed out and chomped down on her. She screamed and thrashed as Haku effortlessly swallowed her down, putting her mind to work as she closed her eyes to link elsewhere.

"My Queen, the sinking is going phenome—"

Haku's eyes snapped open as she gasped, grasping her head as a sudden and powerful migraine hit her. Whatever happened as she tried talking seemed like...it was hard to describe, but like two minds were fighting within one, or at least, that's how she would put it.

"Great...now I have to deal with this..."

Muffled screaming brought her back to reality, and she sighed as she finally consumed her meal and set off. There was more work to be done, there always was.

"We haven't done enough, there is more that must be put to work!"

"No! We've caused enough damage, there's no point in continuing with this!"

"Now you say that?! After all we've been through, the pain and the terror and the Brine...now you're stepping away from this?!"

"I can't begin to do any of this! All this endless death, and for what?!"

"For justice! Revenge for what they did!"

"This isn't revenge, this is senseless slaughter!"

"You aren't getting it dammit!" A hand smashed into the mirror, shattering it into fragments.

It all went silent as she breathed deeply yet slowly, eventually bringing her eyes up to look back into the mirror. Iowa looked between the shattered bits of glass, seeing her scattered reflection peering back into her golden eyes.

"They all did this to us...they hurt us...dragged our good name into the dirt...after all we did for them!"

"We were all at fault that day, our anger got the better of us...no matter how it went, that day wasn't to blame them." The voice was seemingly coming from nowhere, Iowa's gaze still locked onto the mirror as her image changed ever so slowly.
