Chapter 8: Choices

"Where is All Might?"
Midoriya asked.

"I don't know, but why do you want to know??"
Bakugo asked, feeling as though the question was odd.

"He never told me who he was going to give the quirk to.
He could've at least told me it would be one of my students."
Midoriya replied, shaking his head.

"But what does it have to do with you?? Were you going to tell him to give it to someone else??"
Bakugo said, accusatorialy.

"no. I don't control who OFA goes to. That was a part of my brother's will. As long as the quirk goes to someone who can bear the responsibility and has the ability to uphold the justice OFA is to serve, I have no issue who it goes to.

But that's now the question.

Why did All Might pick you?"
Midoriya asked, standing up.

"because he saw my potential?"
Bakugo replied, every word full of rude attitude.

"everyone in your class has potential. "

"yeah but I have the most. And I'm the best.
Didn't you see where I ranked?"

"so you want to say all might picked you solely on your class ranking?
That among all the students who go to UA, Including your upper classmen, that you were picked because you did good on the physical examination.

There's more to the story that I don't know. "
Midoriya said, grabbing a key from his desk.

"well I don't know what to tell you, I just stood out the most. "

"no that's definitely not it.
Follow me. "

"where are we going?"

"I've trained the last 8 successors.
Where else would we be going?"

Bakugo fell silent, but his eyes shone with exhilaration.
He followed Midoriya out of the classroom to the gym room and out to a small room.
It looked like any storage room.

"...a storage room?"
Bakugo asked.

"That's what most people would think"
Midoriya said, pulling his key from out of his pocket and walking over to a wall.
He pulled out a brick and there revealed was a doorknob which needed a key.

He unlocked the door and put the brick back before walking in.
Bakugo followed behind and watched the door shut behind them.
It then lead down to some stairs, they glowed a dark blue, illuminating the steps to be taken.

Bakugo grew confused as he followed Midoriya down the stairs and watched him unlock her another door.
Though behind the door was a room that he had never laid his eyes upon.

It was a very large room, larger than the gym itself.
The ground was of grey tile and the black walls were lined with white cushions. The ceiling lights were a blindingly bright white, difficult to look straight up at.
One section of the large room had various machines of exercise including weights and one of the walls had many tools like swords and daggers.

It looked like an advanced training room solely for ensuring maximum development.
Because it was exactly that.

"Welcome to the One For All training gym.
This is where you'll be trained until you're as strong as all the previous successors of OFA if not stronger.

You will receive a copy of the key as this room is yours to use until you're sick of it.
It's open any time 24/7"
Midoriya explained, showcasing the room around him.

Bakugo took in the sight, a slight gasp escaping from beneath his breath.
"Wait- 24/7?
How? School is closed on the weekends"

"Nezu is among the people aware of OFA's existence and how it works. The key will allow you to enter UA because of the chip inside it, but any regular UA key won't let you enter here so it's very important that you never lose this key.
