"Hermione!" Sophia calls out, spotting her friend outside Flourish and Blotts.
"You came, I'm so glad you did," Hermione pulls her into a hug. They've been messaging each other all summer and their friendship is better than it's ever been, "Everyone else is... Harry! Hagrid!" She runs past Sophia spotting Harry and Hagrid coming up behind her.
She fixes Harry's glasses that have somehow been broken and Hagrid leaves them alone. The three head inside, "You're not going to ignore Hermione this year, are you?" Harry asks Sophia once they are inside and join the Weasleys.
"No. We've messaged all summer and our friendship is better than it's ever been. Everything has been patched up," She would have found his question a bit rude but with how she treated Hermione last year, she can understand that Harry is just looking out for his friend.
In the bookshop, some show-off wizard is there to sell his new autobiography. Harry gets noticed by him and pulled into a photo to be on the front page of the Daily Prophet.
Once they've purchased all the books they need, they head towards the door intending to leave but they are stopped as Draco descends the stairs to their right, standing in front of them, "Bet you loved that didn't you Potter? Famous Harry Potter, can't even go to a bookshop without making the front page.
"Leave him alone," Ginny Weasley warns him.
"Oh look Potter, you've got yourself a girlfriend," He taunts but the head of a cane lands on Draco's shoulder.
Holding the cane is a tall man in all black robes and long white blonde hair who just walked in to shop behind him, "Now, now Draco, play nicely," A guides him to the side so he can stand in front of Harry. His height is intimidating.
"Mr Potter. Lucius Malfoy," He introduces himself shaking hands with Harry. Sophia's eyes go wide sharing a look with Hermione. This is her father she stands hidden behind Fred and George, "Forgive me," He pulls Harry closer using the head of his cane to move Harry's hair away from his scar, "Your scar is legendary. As of course is the wizard who gave it to you."
"Voldemort killed my parents," Harry pulls away stepping back a few paces, "He was nothing more than a murderer."
"Hmm," Lucius smirks, "He must be very brave to mention his name or very foolish."
"Fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself," Hermione speaks up.
Lucius turns to her, "And you must be... Miss Granger," He glances to Draco who nods, "Yes Draco's told me all about you and your parents," He looks to the back of the shop where Hermione's parents are talking to Arthur Weasley, "Muggles aren't they."
He moves on looking over the Weasleys, "Let me see. Red hair, vacant expressions," He picks up Ginny's book in her bag, "Tatty second-hand book. You must be the Weasley's."
Arthur rounds the group, standing with them, "Well, well, well, Weasley senior."
"Lucius."
"Busy time at the Minister all those extra raids. I do hope they're paying you overtime, though judging by the state of this book I'd say not," He puts the book back in Ginny's bag, "What is the use of being a disgrace to wizard if they aren't even paying you well for it."
Sophia quickly decides she doesn't like this man, it puts her off telling them about her altogether.
"We have a very different idea about what disgraces the name of wizard, Malfoy."
"Clearly," Lucius sneers and tuts, "Associating with muddles and I thought your family could sink no lower. I'll see you at work he rounds the group going further into the shop.
