District 5

Ed Sheeran's p.o.v

I couldn't get over the looks that the public had given me. I thought that the costumes would make me feel strong, and look really strong to the other Districts. But we looked stupid. Completely stupid. I kept looking at the other District 5 tribute, trying to start a conversation. But it was like she was looking right through me. The first four Districts had had such interesting interviews. I didn't think that I would have anything interesting to say, I wasn't an interesting person.

Jessie J: Ed Sheeran from District 5!

Danny O: So to start, what do you think of your outfit?

Ed: I don't really like it very much.

Jessie J: Why is that?

Ed: I thought that it would make me look tough and brave, but I think I just ended up looking like a bit of an idiot.

Danny O: Why do you say that?

Ed: Because superheroes are just fictional characters. The outfit doesn't represent that I am capable of doing in the arena at all.

Jessie J: What are you capable of?

Ed: I can do a lot more than people give me credit for.

Danny O: So how does your 6 at training represent that?

Ed: Getting a 6 means nothing. Getting a weapon and showcasing skills at training is completely different to fighting for your life in the arena.

Jessie J: So, do you think that in the arena, you'll be able to prove yourself more?

Ed: Definitely. In the arena, I won't be trying to get a good score to impress anyone. I'll be fighting for my life and for my future.

Danny O: Speaking of your future, there are rumours that your girlfriend back in District 5 is pregnant. Is this true?

Ed: Yes it is, but I don't really want to talk about that.

Jessie J: I understand that, but it must be hard to know that after this process you may never see her again?

Ed: I don't want to think about that. I'm just going to try and win.

Danny O: Great! So let's talk about your fellow tribute, Carly Rae Jepsen.

Ed: What about her?

Jessie J: Are you guys close?

Ed: Um... not really. I mean, I'm sure she's nice and everything, but we're not friends.

Danny O: Is there any particular reason for that?

Ed: No. I have nothing against her, we just don't really click.

Jessie J: That's a shame.

Ed: Not really.

Danny O: Why?

Ed: Because I'm going to win this competition. I'm doing this for my family. No one else.

Carly Rae Jepsen's p.o.v

I kept my eyes off of my fellow tribute as the interviews began. I felt him looking at me multiple times but I didn't want to be sucked in. If I started to make friends here, I wouldn't be able to fight. And if I couldn't fight, then I couldn't pretend that I wanted to win. Winning didn't matter to me. If I lost, I would forever be with my mother. What could be better than that? In a way, I didn't even want to win. Winning would give me fame and fortune, but I would still be in District 5, still with my father, still with my mother in my mind at all times. I couldn't face that.

Jessie J: Carly Rae Jepsen everyone!

Danny O: So, let's start where the last interview finished. Are you friends with any of the other tributes.

Carly: No.

Jessie J: Why is that?

Carly: I'm just not close with anyone in this process. I have nothing against anyone, I would rather just be kept at kind of a distance.

Danny O: Why?

Carly: I'm not here to make friends. To be honest, this process isn't about making friends. Anyone trying to make friends is completely wasting their time.

Jessie J: Why do you say that?

Carly: Because what's the point of making friends that will probably be dead in a few days. If I have no attachments then it won't be hard to kill anyone.

Danny O: So you don't mind killing people?

Carly: At first I was a bit apprehensive, but at the end of the day, everyone here is prepared to kill someone. If they're not prepared, then they're going to be killed.

Jessie J: And you don't intend on being killed?

Carly: Can we move on please?

Danny O: Ok. You got a 6 at training. How did you feel about that?

Carly: A 6 doesn't represent what I'll be able to do in the arena, it represents what I did on that particular day. I'm a lot smarter and stronger than that now.

Jessie J: So, do you have anything to say to the other tributes.

Carly: Don't underestimate me. You'll regret it.
