District 3
Niall Horan’s p.o.v
Now that we were no longer in the chariot, our hearts no longer lit up. To me, this made them seem kind of pointless. All the stylists thought about was how our outfits would look in the chariots in front of the public, they never even considered the fact that we would have to sit waiting for our interviews to happen in the same outfits. I tried to calm myself down by watching the other tributes, and this worked to an extent. The ones from the higher Districts seemed calm, almost courageous. But the tributes from the lower Districts, although scared, looked as if they would be ready for whatever life threw at them. I wish this could have been me. I had no idea how these Games would turn out, and in a way, I didn’t want to know.
Jessie J: From District 3, Niall Horan everyone!
Danny O: So how have things been so far?
Niall: A part from worrying about killing people, I have no complaints.
Jessie J: You’re worried about killing people?
Niall: I don’t think anyone here is completely ok with the idea of killing strangers. If they are, then that’s not someone that I want to be around.
Danny O: I just quickly want to ask you about Miley. You guys are dating right?
Niall: Yes, she’s my girlfriend.
Jessie J: How does it feel knowing that one of you will die?
Niall: … I don’t know how to answer that.
Danny O: Ok, we’ll come back to that later. You got an 8 at training, how does that make you feel?
Niall: Getting an 8 at training was great. People don’t really know that much about me, but at least they know that I have some skills.
Jessie J: By contrast to your score, some may say that your outfit is a bit feminine. How do you react to that?
Niall: My outfit represents the love that I share with my girlfriend. It has nothing to do with how I will perform in the Games, but I’m proud to show a bit of sensitivity.
Danny O: That’s great! Do you think this will make you a bit of a target?
Niall: If someone wants to try and attack me because I wore a heart on my chest, then that’s not going to end well.
Jessie J: For them or for you?
Niall: Them
Danny O: Now let’s come back to our original question: How does it feel knowing that either you or your girlfriend will die?
Niall: I try not to think about that. At the end of the day, when these Games finish, we will never be the same again. Of course I know that at least one, if not both of us, will die. But I’m going to do everything I can to protect her.
Miley Cyrus’ p.o.v
Watching Niall’s interview completely calmed me. Of course I knew that he was going to try and protect me, but him saying this to the hosts, in front of the rest of the tributes, was something that I could never forget. I knew I loved Niall, and I knew that I’d always love him, but I couldn’t help but have doubts about his love for me because I volunteered. When he said that he’d protect me, I could feel the eyes of the other tributes on me. I didn’t know whether they were threatened by me or they were jealous of our relationship, but I can’t lie, I loved the attention.
Jessie J: Niall’s girlfriend, Miley Cyrus everyone!
Danny O: Miley, you got a 9 at training, that’s amazing! How do you feel about that?
Miley: I feel… great. My score shows what I can do in these Games. I may seem a bit naïve at times, but I 100% know what I’m doing.
Jessie J: How did you feel about your outfit?
Miley: I love it, honestly. I’m such a girly girl, anything with a heart on it is completely welcome to me, and I love the fact that I can showcase this to so many people!
Danny O: And it also shows your love for Niall right?
Miley: To be honest, everything that I do shows my love for Niall. He’s my everything.
Jessie J: So, knowing that one of you will die must be hard?
Miley: Niall and I are going to be the most bad-arse unstoppable team. We’ll do everything to save each other from anything that the other tributes are going to try to throw at us. An 8 and a 9 are really good scores, people shouldn’t mistake us for a weak couple.
Danny O: So, are you willing to kill people in these Games?
Miley: … I hate the idea of killing people. I’ve been watching these Games all my life and have never liked to watch people get killed, so I can’t really process the fact that it might be me who is doing to killing. I won’t say that I’m avoiding killing people, because that will make me a target, but I’ve never really been keen on the idea.
Jessie J: And lastly, who would you rather win: You or Niall?
Miley: Niall, without a shadow of a doubt. Purely for selfish reasons.
Danny O: What reasons?
Miley: I know that Niall can handle life without me, but I couldn’t live without him. I’d rather be dead than be alive without him.
