District 10
Louis Tomlinson's p.o.v
Kristen and I had not spoken since we got off the chariot, she had barely looked at me. I tried to focus on why I was doing this, to help my mum, who meant the world to me. But at the same time, Kristen kept distracting me. The way we were dressed (as cows) didn't deter her. She knew what she wanted and she didn't want anything to get in her way. I wished I was more like this. "Louis, promise me one thing" she whispered to me as people were being called up one by one for their interviews. "What?" I asked her, genuinely curious. "In your interview, don't make yourself sound like an idiot" she said. "What do you mean?" I asked. She sighed. "Back in the District, you were the popular guy. But you were also an idiot. You had no real friends and nobody (except me) actually liked you. Try to come across as likeable" she said, looking me in the eye. Then it was my turn.
Jessie J: From District 10, Louis Tomlinson everyone!
Danny O: So Louis, first of all, can you explain your outfit? Some of us were confused.
Louis: Well, being from District 10, our industry is livestock and we're responsible for beef. I wasn't that keen on the outfit at first, but I understand that our stylist didn't have a lot of options. It is so hard to think of something for the tributes to wear that reflects making meat, besides dressing us in actual edible meat!
Jessie J: Fair enough! Now Louis, you got a 7 at the training centre. Were you happy about that or did you wish for something higher?
Louis: I think, unless you got a 9 or 10, it's impossible not to wish for higher. But I think that a 7 is a respectable score. But also, that score only reflected my ability at that certain time, on that certain day with a certain weapon. It doesn't even touch what I can do in the actual arena.
Danny O: So you think you have a good chance?
Louis: Yes. A lot of the people here, who got high scores, cannot beat me. And I don't mean to sound cocky, but I know that I have what it takes. I am not going to be beaten easily.
Jessie J: That's great to hear! Now, your fellow tribute Kristen Stewart, did you know her before you volunteered?
Louis: I thought you guys already had knowledge about our lives before the Games?
Danny O: We do, but we wanted to give you the chance to say for yourself. Let's change the question: You used to date Kristen. Is it awkward being here together?
Louis: Yes I did used to date Kristen. And to answer your question, it was a bit awkward in the beginning. I think any normal person would find it awkward to be in this situation with their ex-girlfriend. But now it's alright. I'm glad I've still got her as a friend.
Jessie J: And why did you break up?
Louis: I won't go into details. But she did something that hurt me. I know she was just trying to help me and my mum but at the time, I could never have forgiven her.
Danny O: Speaking of your mother, how is she?
Louis: I have no idea, I've been here. But when I was at home, she was doing ok, not too bad.
Jessie J: Is she the reason that you volunteered?
Louis: Yes.
Danny O: Can you explain a bit more.
Louis: Look, at the end of the day, I need to win. For my mum.
Kristen Stewart's p.o.v
Watching Louis' interview made me happy. I hold grudges and knew that I would never be able to forgive him for how he treated me and broke up with me. But I didn't want him to be an easy target, and I didn't want him to come across as weak. If he came across as the same popular kid that I knew back in our District then he would be the easiest target. I also wanted to tell him to mention his mum, to appeal to the audience's sentimental side. But I was worried that mentioning them would cause an argument. And I couldn't argue with Louis, I had to focus on myself.
Jessie J: Louis' fellow tribute, Kristen Stewart everyone!
Kristen: Hi everyone.
Danny O: So Kristen, how did it feel to be picked?
Kristen: It was scary. I obviously didn't to be here.
Jessie J: And do you think that will put you at a disadvantage to the tributes that volunteered?
Kristen: No because everyone volunteered for a different reason. Not everyone volunteered because they think they can win. And generally, it's a picked tribute that wins.
Danny O: That's not strictly true. So do you think that you have more of a chance because you were picked?
Kristen: No. I think I have a better chance because I didn't come here thinking that I could win, like some people who volunteer. Just because I was picked doesn't mean that I can't win. Like some other people here, I know what I'm doing.
Jessie J: Now, let's talk about Louis Tomlinson. Do you still love him?
Kristen: I don't know about love, but I care about Louis, and I probably always will. We were together, and I wouldn't have been with him if I didn't think it was going to last a long time. Obviously it didn't, but that doesn't mean that all of the feelings are gone.
Danny O: Do you think that if you weren't here, you and Louis would get back together?
Kristen. I honestly don't. I hold grudges for a long time, and I don't know if I could ever forgive Louis for some of the things that he said. I know now that he didn't really mean them, but it still hurts.
Jessie J: And lastly, do you think you can win?
Kristen: I think if anyone can, I can.
