I was ecstatic when Commander Erwin accepted my proposition to assist the scouts in a non-combat way. I was so hurt for having recently joined only to be forced to quit. I was already bursting with ideas for how to improve our current formations in order to save lives while promoting efficiency.
Now though, was the time for peace from the reality of our situation. I sat on Levi's bed, staring out into the beautiful night. I was trying to savor another night of peace with him, wishing it would last forever. I wish I had a solution for what to tell my teammates about my shift in priorities. I cannot be a part of Levi's squad anymore, instead working at HQ now. When I asked Commander Erwin what to say, he told me to wait awhile as he was working on something to fix our situation, whatever that meant. The thought stimulaeously saddened and worried me out until Levi broke the silence.
"When do you suppose we get married?" He asked me suddenly, with a cool look in his eyes. I turned around in shock. "It's best to get it done before your bump starts to show. Do you accept my proposal?" he continued.
My heart was beating like crazy at his words. Marriage? We were only recently together but I suppose sometimes life doesn't wait, I thought as I felt my stomach. It would be best to marry for the benefits provided by the Scouts for families. I cannot get those without a ring. But still, there was some part deep inside that felt okay with the proposal, with or without growing new life.
"What kind of a proposal is that?" I laughed as he smirked slightly.
"My kind. Either yes or no is all you need to say," he spoke coldly. I could see the nervousness in his eyes as I got up to him, kissed him gently, and spoke.
"Of course," I saw him blush and happily kiss me again. It didn't need to be much, like my proposal. I just needed to show off this man is mine. If he thinks it's okay to be married now, it must be. The thought alone filled me to the brim with passion and excitement as I started to remove his shirt again. He grabbed my hands, stopping me from pulling it off all the way."You didn't answer my question completely," he explained, still gripping onto my hands with that serious tone and posture again. I sat on top of him, frustrated at him for stopping me but I sighed and listened to him.
"Which part exactly?" I asked. My brain was already focusing on something else, making me forget already what he asked.
"When should we be wed?" He asked me seriously. It clicked in my brain as I smiled at his question. He was right when he said earlier we needed to be married before the truth of my pregnancy became obvious. No one would believe we could marry for any reason only than a child, leaving me with a reputation as a baby trapper and Levi as my victim. Or even worse, he could lose his leadership credibility. If we married soon enough though, it would appear differently. Luckily, my pregnancy was still quite early, meaning we had a chance to hide the truth.
"One month. I am early enough along that no one would question the timeline, especially if the child is small, like you," I teased. He scowled at me and decided to put himself on top on me and kiss me passionately.
"Fine then, one month it shall be," He said before indulging himself in my body for another night.

When we awoke the next morning, I was sent to HQ to begin my training for my new job as a strategist and record keeper. I told the team I would temporarily be involved with planning while I recover and everyone seemed to accept that, even if it was a partial lie. Levi traveled with me, intending to pass on the news of our anticipated wedding date so we can move forward in the process.
When we arrived, we both went to Erwin's office first.
"Welcome back. Why are you here as well Levi?" Erwin asked.
"What now I need a reason to come by and say hi?" He stated sarcastically as Erwin looked a bit annoyed until Levi continued. "She has accepted my proposal, we intend to become legally married within a month. I need to start the paperwork with you to legalize it," he explained. Erwin looked surprised at Levi but not in shock.
"Already? You certainly wasted no time I see, again. I can get you the paperwork but for a ceremony, one month is kind of short," he went on. Levi crossed his arms and rolled his eyes, obviously annoyed at the amount of time this was taking.
"A ceremony? Is that really necessary?" He asked. Erwin nodded his head.
"Yes, at least two other people need to present. I can be there of course," he stood up and patted Levi's shoulders, towering over him. Levi rolled his eyes again.
"Fine, if we must. Spare me your brotherly love though," he commented, acting annoyed again but I could tell it meant a lot to him. He turned to me.
"Hey, that covers one person, who is the other we should invite?" Levi asked me. He looked serious while Erwin was beaming with happiness for his friend.
I took a moment to think. I hadn't really been close to anyone besides Levi, but Petra did help me greatly a few days ago when I discovered I was pregnant. She has always been kind to me since I arrived, it feels wrong not invite her.
"Petra," I replied. Levi looked surprised as he sighed at my answer.
"Yes, we will need to tell the team anyways. Alright then Erwin, you have it, we have our people, now hand over the paperwork," Levi demanded, already sick of wedding planning, and frankly me too. We both seemed to want just to be married and move on with our lives, we have no need to flaunt our relationship. I think the attention might even make Levi jealous.
"One more thing, where will it be held?" Erwin asked, obviously enjoying messing with Levi.
"The flower garden near the house would be perfect," I interrupted. I remembered the beauty of the place and wanted to make it a positive place instead of a negative one. Levi was surprised at my interruption but nodded in agreeance.
Erwin accepted our ideas and gave us the paperwork to start our process to becoming an official couple. When he left us alone for a moment to sign, Levi snuck in a sweet kiss on my lips, not caring if someone opened the door and saw anymore.
