Cascade of emotions

After the doctor explained my diagnosis, he gave me a sheet explaining the required steps for a healthy pregnancy. He told me I was very early along and needed to rest but I will recover soon. He also gave me anti-nausea tea if I needed it.
I was in a daze and accepted the paperwork but didn't look at it right away. After the physician left, I didn't move an inch as Levi came to my side and just held my hand.
He looked down at our intertwined hands for a while. He only moved his thumb along the top of mine before he finally said,"I'm sorry, I did this to you,"
I shook my head at him. "It takes two. But what will happen now? The mission?" I asked him. I saw his face twitch in frustration at my comment.
"I'm not letting you go now. Besides, Erwin will know now because the doctor is required to report all scout pregnancies to him. He will probably be here within an hour or two," he spoke. I let out a sigh.
"I know I'm not going. I will keep, this child," I paused awkwardly, petting my still flat stomach. The shock still hadn't faded as I tried to continue speaking, "Safe. They will have a better life than we ever did," I promised myself, no, my family. I turned to Levi. I saw he was relieved by what I said, but there were still a million thoughts racing through his head. He didn't have control of what would happen to me. He would have to trust in his closest comrade and friend Erwin to take care of the situation.
We sat in silence for about one hour. Holding each other's hands and trying to process what was happening. When we heard a knock at the door Levi stood up to the open the door and let in Commander Erwin. He shut the door behind him and stood up across the room as he waited for his friends response. Commander Erwin sat down in the visitors chair close to the foot of my bed after greeting me. I could see the stress of the situation being so close to our mission gnawing at him.
"So, you have heard then?" Levi asked bluntly. Erwin shook his head as he turned to me.
"Okay, so that's answers if it's true or not. This next question may make you uncomfortable but you are so soon out of training it's a requirement to ask. Is this child a result of your own choices? Or was it?" He stopped short as I shook my head 'no'. It was purely my choice.
"Well, that is a relief at least. Do you know who the father is than? We will need to talk to them and go from there to see what to do next," he explained calmy. He never seemed to expect he had already seen him and was standing in the room now.
I felt my heart in my throat. If I didn't tell him, I would face a huge consequence and be left to fend for myself. I had no choice but to reveal my biggest secret, I looked at Levi to see what he would say. He obviously came to the same conclusion as he let out a sigh.
"I am the father," he stated to Erwin. Erwin turned, looking at Levi then at me, and back at Levi's cold stone face only to let out a large belly laugh.
I frowned my eyebrows and Levi scowled as Erwin laughed. Once he calmed himself and opened his eyes, he noticed Levi's serious expression and anger brewing in his eyes.
"Oh my God, you are serious," he spoke in shock. He looked back to me as I turned away from his eyes with my cheeks somewhat red. He let out a sigh and rubbed the top of nose between his eyebrows.
"Levi, what a mess you caused. Always looking for me to clean it up," he spoke.
"I can't seem to recall asking for your help too many times. But, you are right. I do need your help with her and now my, child," he explained, pausing at the mention of our child. It will definitely take time to adjust to even comprehending the idea. Erwin nodded, still in shock at this mess.
"I still can't believe it. You never so much as looked at a woman in that way, or a man. I thought you lacked all interest in that sort of thing," Erwin said. He seemed to be somewhat hurt how little he knew Levi.
"Haven't you ever considered I was waiting for someone?" He asked Erwin, obviously annoyed at his earlier comment.
"Regardless, you know she will have to leave the scouts to raise the child, but what do you intend to do? I'm sure we can have you stay if you so wish, but I recommend not risking your life and leaving another child without a father," he explained.
The thought hadn't even come to me yet. I would have to leave the scouts, before ever even leaving these walls. And not only that, I would have to drag Levi down with me, or possibly end up alone. How do you make a choice like that? My emotions overcame me, reaching a boiling point from stress of the day as I began to have silent tears flow down my cheeks. I tried to hide them but my wiping only made it more obvious.
Levi was quick to act, rushing to my side. Damned what Erwin thought as he wiped my tears and held me close to him.
"Damn it Erwin! You've upset her. We will cross that bridge later first we need to focus on delaying the mission and keeping her and our child safe!" He yelled just loud enough for Erwin to get the point, but not enough for anyone outside the room to hear. He is obviously frustrated because of my tears and Erwin straight forwardness. I was so embarrassed as I held myself in Levi's arms.
Luckily, Erwin seemed to understand as he apologized to me like a gentleman and excused himself. Levi was still steaming when he left. I've never seen him like this before. I relaxed as he dried my tears.
"Everything will be okay, I won't let anything happen to you," he promised me. I only nodded as I allowed myself to be comforted by his words.
He gently placed his hand on my stomach too, he looked like he was tearing up. "I'm so sorry for pushing you for training. I didn't know, but that's no excuse," he stated, obviously angry with himself.
"It's okay. If they survived that they can survive anything. It will be our kid right?" I asked with a smile through the tears on my face. He gave me a smile back and kissed me sweetly.
