Chapter 17:
A nightmare and terror coming to life

─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───

Jake didn't like the idea of having this stranger walking around his home alongside him. Throughout their journey, he exchanged glances with Ki'rrëy multiple times; the two warriors silently talking with their eyes. But from all the silent exchange, Jake's most trusted warrior had immediately understood that the former wanted him to deal with JJ. That the chief obviously didn't trust him still.

The double-spy simply nodded at the older man.

The unspoken tension hung heavy in the air, evident in the wary glances and subtle gestures. JJ observed it all. The head signs, brow raises, and suspicious flickering eyes; and genuinely wondered how mature one had to be to actually not burst out laughing right then and there.

Ki'rrëy's pretended loyalty to the Omatekaya never failed to make him want to laugh. JJ thought these people were fools, for not noticing how he single-handedly had been able to infiltrate so many of their people here throughout all these years, and no one had ever noticed it. But, he forgets, that although everyone who knew that the real Ki'rrëy would never consider himself an actual Na'vi, he still spent the biggest portion of his life with these people. This is where he was raised with love and care after all that trauma from the labs.

Ki'rrëy would never forget Jake turning his back on them, but the man still took care of him and gave him a home when all he wanted to do at the time, was to go back to a family that was no longer alive.

The further they went, and the longer they took to get to Reyn, the harder it was for JJ to remain composed. They seemed to be walking in circles which eventually threw him off in trying to memorize the path in which they had come from, as his mind was already too preoccupied with his friend to be able to think of anything else.

It was a whole while later when they were finally able to see rock formations in the walls that resembled cages and cells in the distance.

"Reyna?" He immediately called as soon as a faint sight of the familiar head filled with white hair appeared in the dark corner, she seemed to have her back turned to him.

Passing Jake and Ki'rrëy, he jogged up to her as he ignored his pained body with the intention of freeing her at once, he was caught off guard when he felt a rough hand on his tsaheylu braid and getting thrown inside the cage.

"Ki'rrëy! Be careful with his wounds man!" He heard Jake's voice.

JJ grunted, grabbing his rib wounds in absolute annoyance before looking up at the person who had thrown him inside in the first place.

Looking up to a raging Ki'rrëy that was practically dismembering his entire body apart with his gaze alone, JJ merely accepted his fate.

'So he actually did get angry with seeing me here.'
