A/N POV

Ahalya is sensing someone is following her. She felt that the person was heading close to her. She grabbed a scalpel (surgical knife) from a table on her way without the person noticing it. She hid the knife behind her hand and walked in the dim corridor. She turned back and was just about to attack the person aiming the knife to his throat with her left hand. But the person held her hand and pulled her a bit close, defending the attack. Locked their eyes on each other. This eye look produced heat on a cool night. Knowing those eyes....

She lowers her hand from his throat and asks what he is doing there.. he replies that his stitches opened up and it was bleeding... she looks at him and then down at his wound. He looked fine with such a cut. She sighed and signalled him to follow her. Took him to her cabin to stitch and treat him.

Adhir's POV

She told me to lie down... but something is weird. How can someone not get scared of a thought if anyone is following them..? Upon that, she attacked me directly on the throat..!! I'll get some information directly... Suspicious...!!

I stood behind her, and the distance between us was just a few inches. I leaned down to her ear and whispered, "What are you planning to do with me?" she turned towards me to answer, "Listen, mister if I can treat you, that means I can tear you. I mean your stitches, and do you know that the area of cut might get infected... sometimes causing death..!" "Well, this sounds more like a threat to me", I countered. "Oh, this still sounds like one; I'm threatening you", she glared.

I laid down removing my shirt. She is preparing an injection. Should I trust her...? If anything goes wrong she'll get killed. She looked at me, telling me that it was a local anaesthesia that only numbs the affected area. Did she read my mind? She is suspicious, but her eyes speak something else, which is making me curious. "I think only you have the guts to threaten me," I spoke with a stern voice. She looked into my eyes for a second and made a smirk "And I think only you can easily get convinced. Done.." she said, band-aiding the area. I got up buttoning my shirt.

Ahalya's POV

He doesn't look like a criminal, but should I just be careful? "So, mister, may I know your name..?" I asked. "Adhir Shetty. You can call me Adhir. And won't you ask how and why I got injured.?" He questioned. I was expecting something like this. I'm curious as well. But still managed to answer "It's none of my business. I treat and save people. I don't want to know something that might put me in danger." I concluded (true). "Oh, if you ever want to meet me, maybe regarding your injury, then just meet me here - in my cabin," I said glaring at him.

"So Miss.. *looking at my batch* Miss Ahalya, by any chance, did I scare you?" He asked, making his voice husky and closing the distance between us. "of course, yes, after all, I'm a normal person without any criminal connections." Shook my head in disbelief. "Criminal connections..?" He asked me tilting his head. "Yeah, I mean no one with any illegal background." He smiled ending it with a smirk. (Omg he can smile). He nodded moving back, keeping the distance.

He offered to drop me home after my shift. "I have my car ..!" I said signalling towards my car keys. He left after humming to the reply. Mannerless...!!!

I'm done with the shift and driving back home.
On Call with Rya....

Ahalya: "Shut up, Ryan. I'm Driving."

Ryan: "I'm just calling to check on you, Ahu."

Ahalya: "Stop calling me that."

Ryan: "I'm waiting for you. I have a meeting in a few minutes. I need to leave."

Ahalya: "Then just leave, man! You don't have to wait for me."

Ryan: "I'm just worried about you idiot. This city is new to you, and you have a life threat."

Ahalya: sighed* "Fine..... I'm at the end of the street. I'm ending the call. Bye..!"

This man is hell worried about my safety. I understand he is my brother and we lost our uncle. But he should understand that I can't run away from these situations... I need to face them even if they are death threats.

I'm a star surgeon, which means I handle VIP and VVIP patients. This week there is a minister's surgery scheduled. I need rest badly after that criminal... or maybe the victim, whoever it was, crashed in my workplace. I should have told Ryan, but he is already dying to send me back, and I'm not going back until I find my answers about Christopher's death.

Adhir's POV

I just know that she is lying. She is something more than she shows to the outside world. How can someone, for the first time, attack her throat and the way she handled the knife gives me other thoughts? I shook my thoughts coming out from the hospital.

Taking a car went to meet someone important today. I hope everything goes well.

*Time skipping to evening.*

Samrat Jaiswal is going to be killed soon. That bustard killed many innocents. But he still has no regrets. That's something out of my business, but I can't turn a blind eye to his atrocities. Because of my morals and values..... or maybe trauma. Whatever it is, his death is confirmed.

Hey, my lovelies. Let's find out about this Samrat Jaiswal in the next chapter. Keep loving and keep supporting.
