14. Tomato red face?!

Adhir's POV

I walked out after pecking her forehead. I noticed that she turned red from the heat generated. She doesn't have to express her feelings because I can sense how she feels; she can just be there around me. I want her presence, her existence and her vibe around me. She lightens my surroundings with her presence.

I would say she is a beauty with brains! I was thinking the same while swimming. There is a traitor in the Panthers. While walking towards the office, I noticed Sid coming out of the kid's room. "Sid!" I called him, saying, "Join me in the office."

We both sat at the table, "Adhir, I have something to say." He said seriously. "Hear me first. There is a traitor in our den. Someone dared to work for Vipers pretending to be on our side. Whoever that is, he doesn't know Ahalya is Mr Godse's daughter, which means he is not that close to our house and still gets the information. He must be working in the field team. Find him out!" I explained the situation. He smirked.

His reaction wasn't really surprising. "I was about to discuss the same with you. Veer raised the same doubt. He asked me how Vipers found out about the safe house. I somehow ended up in the field team while searching. He absconded. We will be finding him before any other Viper does. I will hand him over to you as soon as we find him. No worries!" He concluded.

"That's a relief. Make sure we get him alive. He has so much to say." He nodded in response. "Take care of Veer!" I said before leaving the office. He nodded and moved out along with me.

Ryan's POV

I was not expecting this reaction from her. She hates physical contact but I wonder how much she was worried that she gave such a tight hug. I was walking in the corridor and watched my sister coming from the poolside. "Ahalya", I called her out. "If you are going to ask about what happened in the hall, then let me tell you I have nothing to say." She spilt even before I asked her.

I concealed my laugh. "I'm not! But why were you worried? There is something you know and I don't. What is it?" I asked her. "I think there's a traitor in Panthers. How would Vipers know about our informer and how he was in our safe house?" She answered. "Is this it? Weren't you worried about us?" I asked her.

She looked annoyed, it's fun to irritate her. "Of Course, I was worried about you. You guys took more time than I expected." She answered. "As soon as we reached to save the kid, he was all resisting not to get abducted by them. He reminded me of you. You both know what's wrong and what's right, right from a young age. We managed to save him. But he had many injuries." I narrated the incident.

She nodded, saying, "I'll check on him again." "Wait, why do you look red? Do you have a fever?" I asked, trying to touch her forehead.

She scoffed my hand away, saying, "I'm completely fine. It's just too hot here." She said escaping from there. Something is up, she shuttered when she said it's hot, which means she lied. She went to check on the kid.

Ahalya's POV

Am I looking red? I peeked to look at my reflection in the window. I do look pink, but it is due to blood rush, and I can't deny that he is the reason. How can he show such an effect on me? These were the thoughts that kept lingering until I knocked on the kid's door.

He just sat on the bed as I entered the room. "Are you ok?" I asked him. "It's Veer! And I'm fine." He replied. "I'm here to check on your injuries. How do you feel?" I asked him in concern. "I'm feeling good. And how are others? Sid said everyone was doing well and asked me to take a rest. But am I safe here?" He questioned.

I smiled sitting beside him. "Veer, bacha! You are in the safest hands right now. I can assure you that. Adhir never steps back on his words. He promised to protect you at any cost and he'll make sure to do." I assured him.

"I trust him. He is my saviour in past and even now. I was abused in my orphanage, and I ran away to save myself. I bumped into him. I told him about the incidents, and he rescued the entire orphanage. Since then, the orphanage has been in his under." He expressed his past. "How did you find out about the drug business?" I asked him.

"Everything was going fine. On a fine day, I found out that the grades of the toppers were dropping. I investigated to find out that someone started to supply drugs to the school, and I informed Adhir. He somehow took care of the issue and I was sent to his safe house." He concluded.

"Who are you?" He asked in the conversation.

How should I answer him? "I'm Dr. Ahalya Randhawa. You saw one with brown hair earlier, that one is my brother, Ryan Randhawa. We are here because Adhir promised to protect us." I answered him smoothly for which he nodded. I tucked him into bed and came out.

He is such a mature kid for his age. No wonder he resembles me.

*The next day*

"I found out something. I need everyone to assemble at the breakfast table." This was a text sent by Sid in our group chat. Technology!! Adhir never needed a techie. He had Sid right with him.

We all assembled as instructed. "Veer! You are not supposed to be here." I said as soon as he came to sit at the table. "You need rest bacha. I'll bring your breakfast to your room." I finished my sentence.

"Didi! I'm already in the group. Didn't you know?" He spoke. Wait what! "He is asking many questions, so I joined him in the group," Sid said, walking downstairs. "Sid! He is a kid. You don't have to include him in" "Didi, I'm an expert in hacking, the techie you may need." Said Veer, cutting off my sentence. "Let him be. He is more mature than his age." Said Adhir, sitting beside me, for which I agree.

As soon as I saw him, I got flashbacks of my tomato-red face. I shook off those thoughts. "So, why did you gather us? What did you find?" I asked, curious.

"I told you that the Viper's boss is soon going to show up. I found the event where he'll reveal himself and the details about the biggest meetings with other mafias. But it's a mask-themed party. Only the people who participate in the meeting held by the Russian boss are allowed to remove the masks during the meeting. He is a part of that meeting and we know that the reason is our Adhir. Adhir needs to be in that meeting, where we can meet him face to face." He concluded his part.
