Adhir’s POV
Sid was right. I shook his entire business world. That’s when I thought about the student who leaked the information about the consignments. He should be fine, I sent him far away. I doubt they would find him any time. “Adhir!” Ahalya called me. I snapped out but couldn’t stop to think of that boy.
He was an orphan but was well aware of both good and bad. He informed me as soon as he found out the supply of drugs. I got up and tried calling him from a burner phone. But there was no response. I reached out to one of the safe houses. Someone lifted a call to say that he was in danger and had to escape the house to save himself.
“Sid, the kid is in danger. We need to leave, and Ahalya, you are staying in the house.” I said in a hurry leaving the table. “Which kid? Why can’t I come with you?” Ahalya asked, which paused me a second.
“It’s the informer kid who leaked information about drugs. And you are staying here because we are dealing with Vipers and they don’t have any idea that you belong to the underworld. So, better stay in.” I explained in one go.
“I’ll join you guys.” Said a familiar voice. Ryan. “It’s not business, Mr Randhawa. You need to fight, and shoot if necessary.” Sid said, handing over the weapons. In one instance, he dismantled a gun that was in Sid’s hand a few seconds ago. Ahalya said with a smirk, “We have a weapon manufacturing and supply company for a reason.”
Sometimes I forget what these siblings are capable of. “Fine!” I spoke. “Return safely. I’ll be waiting.” My sweetheart’s voice softened. I tapped her head assuring. We quickly moved out. I need to save that kid.
Ahalya’s POV
Adhir is enough to save that kid. I think I know his capacity. It’ll be easy for the three of them to save that teenager. It's been 3 hours, I wonder how they are handling this issue. It’s almost 10, I’m sitting on the couch, waiting for them.
I began to sense a little panic in my chest with the every increasing minute. I couldn’t sit still and started to walk randomly in the living room while keeping a check on the main door. My mind started to imagine unnecessary scenarios. What if anyone is injured? These kinds of thoughts continued to ruin my peace.
A/N POV
Ahalya became restless even though she knew they could handle it smoothly and wouldn’t take much time. But as it was taking longer than usual, she became apprehensive. Suddenly, the main door opened wide and three of them entered.
Ahalya looked into Adhir’s eyes, with her glistening orbs. She ran into his arms, hugging him tightly, leaving her brother and Siddique in surprise. Adhir froze at her sudden action. But engulfed her in a hug. Both behind him were awestruck by the scene, which was unexpected and unpredictable.
As soon as she realized her act, she broke the hug. “I'm sorry, what took you so long?” She asked Adhir not to meet his eyes. He smugged. “You were worried for me. Weren't you? That’s the reason you gave me such a tight hug!!” he exclaimed, teasing her.
“I was worried, but not for you. Anyways, are you guys ok? Any injuries?” She asked everyone checking for injuries. “This is the kid we saved today from Vipers.” Siddique got a young teenager holding his shoulder; he was about to lose consciousness.
“He got a few injuries but not serious ones,” Adhir spoke. “I’ll check him. Lay him down.” Ahalya spoke, which was followed by Siddique. She treated and took care of him. And went to take care of her brother and Siddique, followed by Adhir.
Ahalya's POV
I had no idea I would react this way. The amount of comfort and peace I felt in his arms was more than anything I required. It was more like home. But I'm in a situation where I can’t have feelings. I took the first aid kit to treat Adhir. I went to his room but there was no trace of him. I began to search for him around the mansion.
Heard a water splash sound. I walked to the pool just to see him swim. He looked frustrated but hot. No! I'm not supposed to have these thoughts. He paused and moved to the edge. “Hey, sweetheart! Are you ok? You look lost.” “I- you are not supposed to wet your wounds and injuries. That might cause a problem. Come out, let me treat them.” I ordered him without answering that I was lost in his thoughts. He obeyed without uttering a word and came out wearing a bathrobe.
We both sat near the pool; I leaned in to treat the wounds near his neck and the corner of his lips. We were so close that I could hear his heartbeat. It felt like the background music to my Visuals.
I looked into his eyes. They were expressing a lot that he could ever speak. “Do you have anything to say?” I asked him sitting back. He nodded. “I wonder what would happen to that innocent soul if I didn't think of him at that time. I was so busy in my world that I forgot about him. I feel frustrated.” He expressed his worries.
“You knew he was safe in the safe house. That’s the reason you were relaxed. It is ok to be frustrated. We took care of him at the right moment. What I'm thinking is, how did Vipers find out about him and the safe house? Don't you think there is a black sheep in ‘Panthers’?”
He stood up, ruffling his wet hair. “How did you know that we are ‘Panthers’? I never mentioned it before.” He paused for a moment. “I think I’m aware of it. And I assume the same. There is a traitor. I'll take care of him. Thanks for treating me.” He said with a smile, trying to leave.
“Just a thanks.” I almost whined, which I regretted the very next second. I stood up to walk past him. He held my wrist to stop me. I held eye contact with him, not knowing his next move.
He placed his hand on my nape, holding it gently, and then he pecked my forehead. I closed my eyes, at the instant his lips touched my skin. He tucked a hairstrand behind my ear and pressed his forehead against mine. “Thanks! I think this is enough,” he whispered against my lips and walked away, leaving me alone.
I stood there still, sensing goosebumps all over. I shook my head dropping thoughts about his surprise act.
I must say, he has a cute smile. But why doesn't he complain about anything, he agrees to everything I say. Thinking about him brings a smile to my face. Cute!
