23. A promise made.

“Do you know why I wanted to see you?” Drake asks, sitting in his chair. “Because I hacked into your systems,” Sid answers. That brings a smile to Drake's face. “Why did you hack into our firewall and what kind of information did you collect?” Drake asked straight.

“Adhir is thriving for revenge and I can’t let him get involved in the mafia alone. This revenge is not his alone but mine as well. I couldn’t collect much except the fact that you have been searching for that tattoo way before Adhir approached you.” Sid explains his reasons.

“I'm impressed and if you want to join the hacker's team-” “I'll take up the job.” Sid cuts Drake. Drake smirks and asks him to leave. Adhir who was stressed, “What happened? What did he say?” He asks Sid. “He offered me a job and accepted it.”

“What? Have you lost your senses? You have a decent job and have a restaurant to take care of. Why would you want to get involved with the mafia?” Adhir showered Sid with questions.

“Stop it, Adhir. That doesn't mean I don't have an urge to kill the murderer. She was only a sister to you. She was my second mother. My biological mother didn't love me, she left me on the roads. Arya walked in like an angel, took me in and loved me more than my mother could ever. She was my everything, more than just a sister…. This revenge is not solely yours. Mind it, Adhir.” Sid walked past Adhir, shutting him up.

Adhir stood there dumbfounded. He didn't realize how Sid suffered silently while he was busy with revenge and the mafia. They both started to work for Drake. Although they remained cold to each other, they didn't stop to support one another.

After a year and a half, Adhir is promoted to be a second in command to Drake. He grew faster than others acquiring that position. Sid became the head of the hackers team.

Adhir was assigned a mission that was led by him. He took some men with him on that mission. Sid, with his team, collected information about that mission.

Adhir was told to finish the people who were involved with women trafficking. Women who are not a harm to the underworld and are not related to the mafia shouldn't be harmed or used. That is a rule, once a godfather made.

Adhir, with his men, reaches the warehouse where the women are held hostages. They slowly entered and finished the people. Adhir opened the secret vault to rescue the women. He sensed a movement around the warehouse. He went around to check.

A man was planning to make a call before Adhir smashed his head against the warehouse wall. Adhir sent all the rescued women along with his men. He came back to take the man who fell unconscious.

He captured him and took him to the basement of Drake's house. No one had an idea. He secretly kept the man in the basement. A man with the same tattoo he had been searching for all these years showed up against him on the mission. Adhir surely knew, that if he missed this opportunity to catch him, it would take an eternity to find the same tattoo person. Adhir tied him to a chair.

He squinted his eyes before he got a tool kit. He controlled his emotions. The man started to gain consciousness, he moved and struggled in the chair. Adhir stuffed him with a cloth to prevent him from shouting. Out of nowhere, he started to punch. Muffled groans escaped from his mouth in pain.

Adhir is in a situation where no one is there to stop his rage, his anger, and his impatience. His eyes teared enough from his sister's demise, just red rage-filled eyes that wanted the death of the murderer. But found a man equivalent to the murderer or worked with him.

He opened the toolbox “Before I ask you anything, I want you to suffer.” Adhir growled. He plucked out a nail from the little finger of that man. The man moaned from the stuffed cloth. Tears continued to flow. “I'll remove this cloth. You might have understood that I caught you as a hostage. You know how we take care of people whom we bring into the basements.” He paused to remove the cloth.
