A few days after Ochako woke up in the hospital, she was ready to be discharged and brought home.
Her time in the hospital was interesting to say the least. For starters, it felt strange for her to be in the bed for once, and not by its side with Izuku in it.
Secondly, she was not at all prepared for All Might to come back from the dead.
Shortly after Izuku calmed her down, he and Toshinori explained the whole story of what happened since they last saw each other.
On the drive home, Izuku and Ochako finally had some time alone to talk and catch up without visitors and doctors coming in every few minutes.
"I still can't get over him being in our lives again, you know?" Ochako began.
"It's a strange feeling to say the least." Izuku replied. "He's been gone for so long, and after grieving this whole time, it's like someone granted our wish."
"It kind of puts things into perspective." the brunette added.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, it shows how much we value the ones close to us. You never know when someone will leave your life for good. Now having a second chance to have him in our life makes me not want to take anything for granted." Ochako explained.
Izuku thought about what she said for a moment. She had a point. Especially considering their line of work.
"I understand completely," he began. "With you not home the last couple days... I quickly realized how much I need you by my side at night."
"Izu... You slept at the hospital the last two days..."
"Yeah, that one night at home without you sucked!" He defended his point.
Ochako simply chuckled at what he had to say.
"Well, it's the thought that counts."
A few moments go by, and an idea pops into her mind.
"You know what we should do?" she began. "We should have a big 'family dinner' this weekend. We could have my parents over, your mom... and even Toshinori!"
Now that they had graduated high school, and having All Might practically be part of their family, it took some getting used to calling him by his name, and not his Hero Title. Especially after being under the impression that he was dead.
"I think that's a great idea!" Deku chimed in.
"I think it might work out perfectly! I'm going to be home until Monday recovering, so I'll have some time to set up!" Ochako said excitedly.
"Speaking of you being home, I should probably update you on the meeting we had yesterday." Deku began.
*YESTERDAY*
The briefing room was filled with several heroes. Some were on leave however, due to injuries from the battle the other day.
"Okay, let's get this meeting underway." began The Director. "A few days ago, there were a series of attacks around the country. It is clear that this army of mech users have a goal in mind. The problem we are running into is we have no clue as to what their motive is."
The Director turned on a projection screen showing security stills from the battle fields.
"Historically, their attacks have been unorganized and random. The battle we faced however, showed a different result. They timed their attacks at the same time, and in largely populated areas."
The Director turned the screen off before continuing to his next point.
"Now, as most of you may know, there was another thing that happened during the battle... You can come out now, Yagi!" He announced motioning in the returned hero.
Chatter grew amongst the crowd of heroes.
A tall slender man with blonde hair entered the room carrying a metal suitcase. He walked up and stood next to The Director.
"I would like to officially announce right here and right now, the return of the pro hero All Might." The Director said full of pride.
"Thank you old friend. It feels good to be back in action once again." All Might added.
"Now, obviously there are questions." The Director said.
A sea of hands rose and voices flooded the room blurting out questions. Most of the heroes in the room have known All Might or have had an encounter with him before, ruling out any questions from fans. Simply, everyone had the same question.
"Okay. Okay... Calm down!" All Might began. "I can probably answer the most popular question here. No, I am not dead. I faked my death to go undercover on a top secret mission that I've been working on for the last three years. Any other questions."
One man in the back raised his hand.
"Why of course! What is your question, young Ida?"
"For starters sir, it is an honor to have you back alongside us. My question I would like to ask you pertains to your mission that you had just mentioned. Assuming it was a success, was it a recent victory? And if so, is that why you joined the battle the other day?" Ingenium asked.
"Formal as ever, kid." All Might stated, letting out a soft chuckle. Quickly however, his expression changed to a more solemn tone.
Deku instantly took note of this change of face. He knew what All Might's mission was, but did not think to ask about the success of it.
"To answer your question, it was not a success." All Might began as the room fell so quiet you could hear a pin drop. "The reason I reappeared actually has to do with why I am here."
The projection was turned back on showing files regarding his mission.
"For those of you who remember the Hercules armor I used to stand toe to toe with All For One a few years ago, you may recall its design is not too different from the villains you all have been fighting."
"The original creator of my suit is a man named David Shield. He was an American scientist and a close friend of mine from way back... He was taken by some villains, and presumably being used to create weapons and support gear." All Might explained.
"The theory we have put together is that Mr. Shield is being used to create the villain mechs." The Director added in.
*PRESENT*
"So you really think David Shield is making the suits?" Ochako asked as she was getting out of the car after pulling into the driveway.
"It would make a lot of sense." Izuku replied. "But, work aside, welcome home my love!"
Izuku opened the door to let his partner inside. They both made their way to the couch to sit down and relax alone for the first time in a week.
"This feels good Izu." Ochako explained as she leaned her head onto Izuku's shoulder.
Izuku was nearly at peace once again. Everything is finally starting to come back together.
The man he looked up to since he was so young was back in his life, his partner was back home safe, and he is so close to finally asking her the question he had been waiting to ask for months.
"We should probably ask everyone if they want to have dinner Saturday." Ochako interrupted the moment.
"I'll call my mom." Izuku stated
"And I'll call my parents." Ochako added. "Do you want to call Toshinori and see if he can come?"
"Sure!" Izuku stood up and yelled towards the hallway. Ochako appeared confused.
"All Might! Do you want to join us for dinner Saturday!?" he yelled down the hall.
The door opened from the guest room.
"Umm... Sure?" Toshinori responded, somewhat confused by his yelling.
"He's staying here?..." Ochako asked with a neutral but almost disappointed expression.
"It was only for a couple days while he looked for a new apartment. He is leaving tomorrow."
'And so much for alone time...' Ochako thought, extremely disappointed.
