Arc 1 - Chapter 11 | Date Night

The work day had ended with only a few minor crimes earlier in the afternoon.

Izuku and Ochako were already back home, getting ready for dinner.

"So where is this place we're going?" Ochako asked, not too sure of all the details.

"It's a newer place by the beach. It's mostly outdoor seating with a canopy and small fireplaces around." Izuku explained as he struggled to tie his tie.

"Here, let me," the girl offered as she took over the tie. "Well, it sounds beautiful for sure! Where did you hear about it?" she asked.

"Todaroki was talking about it the other day at lunch. I guess he was going to take Momo there" he explained.

"So, he was going to, but didn't go yet?" she began teasing him. "So there is no telling what we're getting into?" she joked.

"It seemed to be rated very well," he reassured her.

They finished getting ready and Izuku led her to the car and they began driving for the fifteen minute ride to the restaurant.

This new place was built right along the same beach that he cleared out just a few years ago, and the same beach that All Might gave him his power.

It was a very special place to Izuku. A place that holds a good memory of someone he looked up to dearly. Somewhere he hoped that the vestiges of One For All would come back, since they kind of disappeared after the last war had ended.

They pulled into the parking lot and walked up to the main entrance.

"Reservation for Midoriya," Izuku told the server.

"Right this way," they gestured.

"Why not, reservation for Uraraka," Ochako teased. He decided this would be a good time to not comment on that one, as he had hoped that name would change before too long.

The couple sat down by the railing, with a gorgeous view of the ocean. This was the perfect spot.

The couple placed their order, and talked for a short while.

"This place is truly beautiful," Ochako began. "Thank you for taking me here."

"Anything for you," He explained. "That view is only the second most beautiful thing here, you know. And you know what's number one?"

"Yaoyorozu!?" she asked, shocked?

"Um, no..." he said, clearly confused. "I was talking about yo-" he began as she cut him off.

"No, Izu, look!" she explained as she pointed over his shoulder.

Just a few tables down sat Momo and Shoto and a date.

'Oh no...' Izuku thought to himself, as his plan started to unravel.

"We should go say hi," Ochacko stated.

"No, they are on a date. We shouldn't bother them" Izuku explained.

"Nonsense, they're waving us over!" she replied.

Izuku looked back as Momo was waving at them, and Shoto had a hand on his forehead, with a similar expression to his.

Ochako dragged him over to their table and the girls immediately greeted each other.

"Oh my god, it's been too long!" both girls expressed in unison as they embraced each other in a hug

"I am so sorry.'' Both boys expressed in unison as they approached each other.

"I have missed you so much! I am so sorry for not keeping in touch with you the last couple years" Ochako explained to Momo.

"It's fine Ochako, seriously!" Momo began. I've been pretty busy with my first year students. I never realized the shoes I would be filling in taking over Midnight's role."

The girls continued to talk 'Girl Talk' for a bit, giving the guys a chance to have a one on one.

"What are you doing here?" Todaroki questioned, slightly irritated. "I told you I would be taking her here this weekend."

"No you didn't," Deku began. "You said you were thinking about this place for a date, but never explained what day!"

"Oh. You might be right about that..." Todaroki explained, easing up and second guessing himself.

"I am so sorry that we barged in on your date. I tried to steer her away" Izuku explained.

"It's fine, seriously. I was starting to get a bit nervous." The hot cold hero explained. "You see, tonight I was going to officially ask her to be my girlfriend."

"You're kidding me." The green haired boy expressed. "You see, I was going to do something not too far off as well." he explained as he showed him the small box, not making it too obvious so Ochako couldn't see.

"No way!" Todaroki explained. "How come I am just now finding out?"

"I didn't want a lot of people to know, just in case it didn't go to plan," Izuku explained.

"That's fair," Todaroki replied.

"I can wait another night," Izuku explained. "I don't want to steal your thunder."

"No, I still think you should." he responded.

"Nah, I don't think the setting is what she would want anyways," Izuku explained.

"Thanks man," he replied. "I owe you one!"

The girls finally finished catching up for now, and both agreed that they needed to finish their dates.

"So, was that the surprise you were talking about earlier?" Ochako teased.

"No, but I think it's best that the surprise would wait for another night," He explained.

The food finally comes out and they enjoy their meals. They then head to the beach for a nice walk on the sand.

They strolled for quite a while talking. Izuku even filled her in on Todaroki's plan to ask Momo to be his girlfriend.

"Tonight was perfect," Ochako expressed. She had an amazing time with her boyfriend.

"I'm glad you're having a good time," he said as she held his hand tighter and leaned her head onto his shoulder as they continued to walk.

"I wouldn't want it any other way" he lied convincingly. The only thing that could make tonight better, was asking her to be his wife.

Sure, tonight didn't go as planned, but both of them were still pretty happy.
