My Hero Organization - Arc-1

OSS 1 - Pt.1 | Shockwave (Bakugo's Crush)

Hey all! Before this chapter starts, I want to clarify something. The following few chapters are an "Original Side Story." I wanted something like an OVA to take place between arcs while I was writing them. 

Everything in this mini-arc is canon to my story. However, it does not focus on Izuku and Ochako. Instead, it focuses on Bakugo and an original character I created for this story.

It's been about six months since the attack on the I.H.O. The reconstruction of the HQ was completed, and the heroes are back on duty.

It was a few hours into the afternoon. Izuku and Ochako were sitting at the dining table with many brochures laid out. The couple were in the process of picking out wedding locations.

'Ochako Midoriya... Ochako Midoriya! Izuku and Ochako Midoriya!' Ochako kept repeating in her mind the entire time, full of joy.

"I cannot wait for our big day!" Izuku said as he went up and hugged his finance from behind.

"I can't either!" she replied, tilting her head back onto his shoulder.

They stay in that position for a fair amount of time, enjoying the warmth of each other's embrace.

'I don't ever want this moment to end.' Ochako thinks to herself. Then suddenly, a thunderous and obnoxious knocking came from the front door. 'Damnit...'

Izuku looked at the home station on the table and saw Bakugo at the front door, still in his hero costume.

"That's weird..." Izuku said with a hint of concern. "What is he doing here suited up?"

"Something must be wrong..." Ochako replied.

She clicked a button on the screen that unlocked the door. Bakugo slammed it open and looked through the hallway into the dining room right at them.

"I- I need your help..." Bakugo explained in a worried tone.

Both Izuku and Ochako jumped up and rushed over to him.

"What's wrong?" Izuku asked, ultimately concerned.

"I think I'm dying..." is all Bakugo could say.

The couple led him into the living room and sat him on the couch.

"You two wait here. I'm going to go get some water." Ochako explained as she hurried into the kitchen to grab a glass.

"Okay, tell me what you feel. Why do you think you're going to die?" Izuku asked, trying to get pieces to solve the puzzle.

"I was on patrol earlier. I was after this group of bank robbers, and this new hero jumped in and stopped them." He began.

* Two hours Ago *

Dynamo was on his rotated weekend patrol around the city. He went ahead and accepted weekend duty every other week. He didn't have anything else to do, and at the very least, it meant there were more opportunities to blow up villains.

As he continued down the sidewalk, gunshots could be heard down the road. He quickly started blasting his way to the scene. As he neared, he saw a bank robbery, and the thieves were getting away.

As he caught up to them, one of the thieves used their water jet quirk to hose him down, throwing him back a little bit.

He gets back on his feet and closes in on them. As he creates sparks in his hands, another hero lands ahead to cut them off. The hero flicks her arm forward, and a sonic boom blasts toward the villains, knocking them back several meters. Dynamo is also caught in the wave and is shot back.

It took a second to recollect himself. He stood up and saw the bank robbers out cold on the ground before him.

"Damn It! I HAD THEM WHERE I WANTED THEM! WHY DID YOU TAKE OVER MY FIGHT!" Dynamo chastised the young hero.

"Oh, give it a break, you explosive Jackass!" The new hero shot back with almost as much snark as Dynamo. "Maybe if you were a little bit faster, you might have beat me to it!"

Dynamo's anger was visually increasing. This girl knew how to get on his nerves. In frustration, a few sparks came out of his hands.

"YOU THINK YOU'RE FASTER THAN ME?!" Dynamo yelled out, shooting a blast in her direction. As the explosion reached her, she flicked her fingers back towards him, and another sonic boom countered the blast.

"Yes. Yes, I do think I'm faster than you." She smirked.

"Just who the hell do you think you are!?" Dynamo yelled out again.

"My name's Shockwave! I thought maybe you would remember me from UA... Although I was a year below you, so you might not remember," she explained, sarcastically disappointed.

"Huh?" Dynamo let out. He was digging deep to remember this girl. The anger was starting to ease up as he drowned himself in thought.

"I never did stand out. At Least not like you did back in school." She began. "Seeing a first-year kill the world's most feared villain was pretty cool!" She took a few steps closer to the still perplexed hero. "As much as I don't want to admit it, I am a big fan of yours," she added, followed by a wink.

"I—I... Thank You?" Dynamo struggled to let out. Somehow, the tension had fizzled out, and the tables had turned on him.

It was hard to explain, but Dynamo had difficulty coming up with anything to say. He couldn't describe it if he tried. He wanted to speak, but his mind was blank. Also, he had this weird feeling in his chest he couldn't explain.

"I'll have to run into you again at some point. I gotta get going." She explained as she waved him off.

Shockwave walked down the road as Dynamo was left to deal with the bank robbers still unconscious in front of him.

"H- How did I get stuck with this!?" he yelled towards her.

She turned around and yelled back.

"You said you had them!" she teased with a devilish grin and turned the corner.

"Okay?" Izuku replied, not sure where he was going.

"After the fight, she and I argued because she took my victory. But after we fought, something felt... off?" he continued.

"What do you mean by off?" Izuku asked. "You don't think it had anything to do with her quirk, do you?"

"I don't know exactly... I have no idea what her quirk did to me or if it was something else, but I felt this weird feeling in my chest like my heart was beating faster. My stomach felt as if it was in a knot or something. And worst of all, I couldn't think of anything to say." Bakugo explained in detail.

Izuku knew what it was...

"Kacchan... You are not you right now. I don't know how much time you have left."

Ochako stood in the living room doorway, holding a glass of water. She couldn't tell if her current confusion was from Bakugo's explanation or her fiance's reaction.

"Umm. It sounds like he has a crush on the girl." Ochako chimed in.

"I figured that, but I've never seen him have that kind of compassion before," Izuku explained, wiping a tear. "He's not supposed to have those kinds of feelings!"

Bakugo leaned back, looking up at the ceiling.

"Me?... In love?... Maybe I need my brain scanned? What diseases cause this kind of thing?" he asked.

"You're both idiots..." Ochako admitted before drinking from the glass.
