It's the following day after Bakugo and Reina had agreed to go on a date.
Bakugo was waiting outside the front door of a fancy Japanese restaurant that Reina insisted they go to. He wanted to argue with her but to be fair, he did like going here. He was wearing a black trench coat that was buttoned up. He never did well in the cold.
The air was getting a bit chilly, and only a few wisps of clouds disrupted the view of the stars. He looked down at his watch and read it was about twelve minutes after their agreed time.
He quickly scanned the area and saw no sign of her. His pessimistic thoughts were beginning to come back. He felt as if there was a chance he was getting set up again. It's shit like this why he doesn't do relationships.
Bakugo scoffed and started to turn away and head back to his house. However, before he took his first step, he was almost face-to-face with Reina.
Reina was wearing a black leather jacket with a soft grey shirt underneath. She wore black denim jeans and wore black and white Converse sneakers. Her short, deep blue hair was styled behind her ears, and her sharp blue eyes shone in the moonlight. She had a smoldering smile that showed off her fangs. Bakugo was speechless.
"Now, where the hell are you going?" she interrogated him.
"I was starting to think you stood me up," he replied, crass as usual.
"What? I'm fifteen minutes early," she explained, showing the time on her phone.
"You said six o'clock!?" Bakugo stated.
"Half. Half after six..." She explained and grabbed his arm. "Come on before they give our table to some extra."
Bakugo swooned on the inside for how she used his phrasing. 'I like this girl.'

The two sat across from each other. Shortly after both were seated, a waiter took their orders.
Soon, Bakugo and Reina were finally left alone to talk. Bakugo started to twiddle his thumbs and grind his teeth. He could not tell if he was getting nervous or uncomfortable.
"You know, I can not get a good read on you," Reina said, trying to break the silence. Half the time I've been around you, you're this stuck-up punk. The other half, you are a nervous wreck."
He sat there silently for a moment, thinking of what he wanted to say.
"You don't do this much, do you?" Reina asked him, trying to figure him out.
"No." He said simply.
Reina gave him a confused look. She figured it would be best not to pry into this quite yet.
"So, what kind of hero are you trying to be?" Bakugo asked, attempting to change the topic.
"Well, I guess the kind that fights those damn villains." She said simply.
"So, you don't want to be number one?" He asked, a little taken back.
She pondered her response for a moment. For the first time since they encountered each other a few days ago, she seemed to be the nervous one now.
"Is that why you wanted to be a hero?" she asked, trying to move off her reason for a moment.
Bakugo chuckles and begins talking about his childhood. He explained how he looked up to All Might and wanted to be just like him.
"So, who's to blame for inspiring you to play hero then?" he asked jokingly.
"Lord Explosion Murder God Dynamite... But that name is no longer around..." She replied.
Bakugo gave her a surprised look. That was not the answer he was expecting.
"When I was in middle school, I had no idea what I wanted to do when I grew up. Honestly, being a hero was far out of my mind." she began with a hint of reminiscing. Suddenly, however, her mood got a bit more solemn. "Then that day happened... My family used to live in Kamino.
Bakugo's heart sank as he remembered the worst day of his life. His palms became sweaty, and his jaw was nearly on the floor.
"Obviously, You know what happened that day... There were a lot of casualties." she nearly choked up for a moment there. "My mom... was killed by All For One during one of his attacks. And I-" she began as she lifted her shirt a little bit to show a scar on her stomach. "-Barely made it out alive..."
The two sat in silence, remembering the events of that day.
"Months later, the entire country went into hiding in shelters. I remember the combined forces of heroes fighting the villains. I wanted so badly for All For One to be dead... Then this great young hero, just a year older than me, made my dream come true." She looked up and gave him a warm smile.
"That next year, I tried out for the hero course and made it into class 1A at UA. My dream is to make sure what happened to me never happens to any other kid again."
"I- I don't know what to say..." Bakugo explained, still in shock.
"I'm sorry. I should not ha-" She began before getting cut off.
"No! You're okay." he blatantly explained. "You have nothing to be sorry for."
Shortly after, the mood lightened up. The two began to share stories of their time at UA, and as pro heroes.
The food came out, and they had enjoyed a nice meal. Overall, this date was going perfectly for the two so far... Until the bill came.
"Here, take my card." Reina offered to the waiter.
"Damn it, No! Take mine!" Bakugo disputed.
"No, I don't need chivalry, bull shit. Take it. NOW!"
"I asked you to come here! It's on me!" he yelled out.
"I'M THE ONE WHO ASKED YOU OUT!" she screamed.
After about five minutes of arguing, they came to the mutual decision just to split the bill.
They left the restaurant, but neither wanted the night to end.
"Hey... Maybe we can go for a walk quick?" Bakugo asked.
Reina smiled and nodded. The two made their way downtown and headed for the park on the other side. The whole time, they continued to talk.
Then, a scream was heard from a few blocks away from a young woman.
"HELP ME!!!"
