That Cinderace hasn't paid you one ounce of recognition or respect her entire stay. Rather than thanking you for your hospitality, she tends to ignore your every word or look away when you stare in her direction, and she'll even nudge you away when you happen to get a little close to her.
You think you're doing a pretty good job at being a host and her caretaker for a while. At least until her crimes are cleared up and she's in a better position to be wandering the city without someone watching over her, whether it's you or the police with handcuffs at the ready. It's just that she's so bratty, so ignorant that it's becoming difficult to stay calm around her. Every time she ignores you, acts like you simply don't exist, you get the urge to put your foot down and tell her you could just leave her out to dry. Every time she avoids eye contact, you want to step closer and make her look at you but you, of course, do not. Each time she shoves you away with her paw, you're not the only one who wants to retaliate — Meowscarada is always watching nearby, and she's always severely pissed at how the Cinderace treats you.
In the following days, having an extra Pokémon roommate proves stressful. For the most part, because Cinderace acts like you're not there, she's pretty low maintenance. The only time you have to step in to help her — which is honestly less helping and more correcting — is when Cinderace is in your cabinets and such making a mess. Two days after being forced to take her in, you find her rummaging through your kitchen cabinets and the pantry, throwing various shelf foods and containers astray.
"Hey!" you shout. Upon hearing your voice, all she does is flinch. Her paws stop shredding through the pantry foods. She stares coldly over her shoulder toward you and nothing more. She waits for a beat or two, then she's gone right back to searching through your stuff. At one point she stops to observe a bag of potato chips that caught her eye.
"C'mon! You're making a mess..." Sighing deeply, you start to approach her. Surprisingly you don't even get the chance to stop her because a thick green vine suddenly blasts out into the room from behind you. You pause and whip around, finding Meowscarada in the kitchen doorway, her grass magic having manifested into a snake-like vine at her wrist. It looks oddly reminiscent of the grassy string she used as a Floragato for her yo-yo tricks. It's just much bigger now. Much more dangerous.
The vine stretches far and moves quick, wrapping tight around Cinderace's neck. Cinderace gasps, scratching at the bind she was unable to prevent from coiling around her. It's already too late; Meowscarada yanks the vine, pulling Cinderace away from the pantry and down to the floor with one hard tug. The bag of chips she was holding falls back into the messy pile of abandoned shelf food with a shallow thump.
"Cinn—ack!!!"
"Meowscarada, that's enough!" you demand. Meowscarada's catlike eyes flick over to you, robotic, unfeeling for this rabbit — and in lieu of deliberate disobedience, she makes a humph sound and causes her grass magic to vanish instantly. The bind around Cinderace fades into pretty green particles, allowing the Pokémon to breathe.
You quickly get down to one knee and help her sit up. "Easy, easy," you tell her as she bellows a pained cough. "I'm really sorry about her."
The Cinderace, once she's able to breathe clearly, looks you in the eye...
For some reason she's blushing. A look of humiliation perhaps? But only for an instant. With haste she realizes what kind of expression must be upon her own face, and exerting all effort to hide her feelings, she pushes you away from her. You stumble and fall to your butt, grasping at the kitchen floor.
"Ow, man... I can't catch a break, can I?" You reach down and massage your aching rear. "Guess I'll get used to getting beat up by Pokémon..."
Meowscarada comes over to help you up, meanwhile Cinderace is still sitting on the floor, looking away from the two of you. She's so distant, so incorrigible — but why give up on her so easily? While you're not into rewarding bad manners, you think that in doing so, at least for her, you might have the slimmest shot at earning her trust. Even if she doesn't give a rat's ass about you.
