"Mmm-! Mm-! Hmmm-!!"

Cinderace can't talk. No matter how much she struggles, no words come, she can't move a muscle, and she knows if she were to ignite her heels again, she'd set the whole house ablaze.

"You're not going anywhere, delinquent," says Meowscarada, still grinning as coldly into the eyes of her new toy as she was the night before. As Cinderace struggles, Meowscarada leans her whole body into her, her face only inches from the rabbit's bound mouth. "Let me tell you a few things. And you'd better listen real close, 'cause I'm not repeating myself."

Cinderace stops squirming and stares, wide-eyed, into the harsh eyes of her captor. A moment of silence flutters between the two Pokémon before Meowscarada firmly says everything on her mind.

"You got lucky. If I had it my way, I'd kick you to the curb and let you and your stickman-looking Gran die alone. You just so happened to fall into the care of my Master, the sweetest boy on earth. That's why you aren't curled up underneath a bridge, starving and alone like the good-for-nothing waste of space you are."

Cinderace's expression visibly tenses up time and time again as she listens to the feline's words. She's not sure that, even if her mouth were free, she'd have any words of her own to come back with. Cinderace lies there in silence, not even trying to groan her way out of the gag in her mouth. There's just something so disheartening about how Meowscarada talks. Cinderace thought maybe — just maybe — this Pokémon would have lightened up after meeting Granny Eve. But no. Meowscarada is as evil as ever. It must be in her genes.

"It's a shame, really," Meowscarada continues, "the way Master would willingly give into your slutty charm. It's always something. It fascinates me. And I really, really just want to break your neck for it. But..."

Meowscarada's hands run up the Cinderace's tied body, her fingers running through the soft white fur. They run over Cinderace's chest, making the rabbit wince in fear of what the Pokémon might be planning. Meowscarada's paws keep moving, up, up, up — until her fingers are high enough to wrap around Cinderace's neck. She gives it a little squeeze, though not tight enough to choke the poor thing.

"If I were to dispose of you, Master would never let me hear the end of it. I hate to admit it, but he might even be saddened. So instead of getting rid of you... you'll become my new assistant. You get to help me perform a trick I've been practicing." Meowscarada's lips cross into a perfect catlike smirk. "But first, let's get this thing out for you."

She takes one paw from the rabbit's neck and removes the grassy gag in her mouth. As soon as Cinderace's mouth is free, she spits out tiny pieces of grass onto Meowscarada's paw. As much as Meowscarada wants to punish her new toy for misbehaving and spitting on her, she keeps her calm. The magician keeps it all together, flexing her paw and watching the shreds of grass moistened in Cinderace's saliva stick to her fur. She grimaces but makes no further comment on it.

Right before Cinderace's eyes, the grass gag vanishes into thin air. Which means the magician is moving into the next step of her show.

"Now. Tell me." Meowscarada gently lifts Cinderace's chin with her finger, giving the rabbit an almost sultry look. "Will you be a good little bunny and promise not to mess this magic trick up?"

Cinderace pauses, thinking over her own answer before wordlessly nodding up at the cat.
