[Yandere Meowscarada x Reader] I'll Make Them All Disappear!

21 | Battle! Challenger Nemona!

Nemona throws out a Pokéball, and upon first glance you notice her stature and form when throwing is nothing short of awful. Comical to look at. Your focus is quickly realigned with the battle when a Midday-form Lycanroc bursts out of the blue light emitted by the capsule. Already you feel a pump of excitement deep in your veins, realizing you've already got the upper hand against this girl.

"Okay," you whisper to yourself, "I wanna see if she makes the first move. What would a Champion-rank trainer do first?"

Answering your quiet thoughts, Nemona shouts out to her partner while pumping a fist into the air. "Lycanroc! Let's start off with Bite!"

Heeding its trainer's command, the Lycanroc darts off toward Meowscarada, its sharp teeth barred. A few feet away from your partner, the canine bounds into the air and opens its jaw wide, a strike aimed toward Meowscarada's torso.

"Dodge it, Meowscarada!"

In the blink of an eye, Meowscarada's body slides to the side, completely out of reach for the Lycanroc. All the while she wears a nonchalant face as if this battle is nothing more than a walk in the park. She might even be inclined to start yawning in her opponent's face.

"Good!" you yell. "Now use..."

"Fast. Just as I expected," Nemona mutters with a grin on her face. "Don't give them an opening, Lycanroc! Use Accelerock!"

You watch as the canine moves faster than your partner, piercing through the air at a speed your eyes can't follow. First the Lycanroc appears there in front of Meowscarada, then suddenly it's behind her, crashing into her with all its might and creating some distance after the strike to ensure Meowscarada can't attempt to counter. Meowscarada herself looks peeved for taking a hit, though not very deterred from battle. That was the first time another Pokémon landed a hit on her in weeks. Usually she's a glass cannon, unpredictable, so very fickle to the point most battles end in only one side of the opposition taking a shred of damage.

At this moment, you realize you're up against a force much tougher than anything you've ever challenged.

"Come on, Legendary Trainer!" Nemona shouts from across the court. "Don't look so dumbfounded! Don't hold back against me!"

You nod. You've got the green light to let loose, so you snatch the opportunity with open arms. Meowscarada finishes dusting herself off and awaits your order, grumbling, ticked off to have finally sustained a hit from another Pokémon.

"Alright, Meowscarada. I know we're not that rusty. Toxic Spikes!"

Meowscarada throws out her arms, black spikes tinted a slight poisonous purple flinging out from her fur and toward Nemona's side of the court. Her Lycanroc cautiously watches its step, careful not to contract any of the poison. If the spikes are at least visible, it's no issue to have to sway and weave outside their area of reach. That's when Meowscarada follows up the move with a snap of her fingers. The spikes, once laid out in plain sight, go completely invisible. Lycanroc makes a noise, looking here, looking there, but not able to snuff out any of them.

"Now, Meowscarada! Flower Trick!" you command.

Her killer move, you think giddily.

Meowscarada vanishes and appears again next to the Lycanroc, revealing to everyone watching the ability of a magician that can transmit herself through physical space instantaneously. Even the Lycanroc appears shocked, attempting to throw itself away from Meowscarada. Unfortunately for it, it's too late. Meowscarada swings out her paw, slapping the canine's muzzle hard. From afar, it may look like just that — a slap — but when Meowscarada's paw disconnects, what she leaves behind on the Lycanroc's fur is one of her flower bombs. Rooted deep enough to stick through thick and thin.
