There's really no other way out. Cinderace knows this. Running forever means an endless chase. Forever feeling afraid. Forever fleeing from certain doom. If Granny Eve were here to see this, she wouldn't want her only Pokémon to go down without a fight. Just a semblance of effort toward living. For the first time, Cinderace does something she never thought she'd do. She stops running, turns around, and faces Meowscarada head-on. The snow beneath Cinderace's heels vaporizes now that there's a fire kicking up off of her heels. She plants herself firm in the ground, watching Meowscarada close in on her.
"You wanna kill me?" Cinderace shouts. "Then kill me!" A blast of fire sends her off her feet and into the air, where she twirls toward the feline magician still in pursuit of her prey. Meowscarada skids to a hard stop, summoning a thick vine from the ground to block Cinderace's kick. Her ignited heel strikes the greenery, setting it ablaze instantaneously; Meowscarada's magic burns away into a dead, wilted weed and she is forced to dodge a second kick.
Just barely, she manages to duck out of the way. Flakes of ember spawn from Cinderace's heels, filling the air around the two Pokémon. Somehow, those same tiny sparks of flames have turned the air hot. She didn't know it until now, but Cinderace's fight-or-flight instincts bleed into how much firepower she's able to exert. So she uses this to her advantage. Her fire fills the chilled air, easing into the wind, the smell of churned charcoal rising from her fur.
Meowscarada dodges another fiery kick by barely an inch. "You're cute," she shouts, "thinking a little bit of flashy fire is gonna save your sorry ass..." She summons one of her flower bombs and pitches it at the rabbit, full force. Cinderace watches the object fly through the air at breakneck speed, and although she should be afraid of what a bomb created by this monster can do, she's able to imagine that same spherical weapon as a soccer ball instead. Thinking of her balls of fire, she leaps into the air and delivers a hard spinning kick to the flower bomb -- a kick so strong and so quick that it redirects the bomb entirely, causing it to shoot back at the person who threw it.
Meowscarada catches the bomb clean in her paw. Her eyes leave the Cinderace for but a split second, still giving the rabbit ample time to kick at her once more. This time, the kick connects with Meowscarada's ribcage. She hears a crack, moving her arms to try and shield the next kick when Cinderace flawlessly nails Meowscarada's jaw with her shin. The feline drops limply to the snow, groaning and meowing both at once while Cinderace prepares to stamp her foot back down into her body. She's thrown off when Meowscarada rolls out of the way, summoning forth another vine from the ground. This time, it grows in bundles, all rising to the air like a pack of snakes. They loom over Cinderace, all but one closing in on her to keep her in one place while the single vine, jagged at its edges, aims to impale her chest.
"The fact you ran tells me you know you're guilty," Meowscarada says as her vines rush in toward the rabbit. "Guilty! No one will miss you!"
Though death is near, Cinderace isn't finished. She drops low to the ground, pressing her back into the snow and lighting her heels with an even stronger flame. A flame so bright that it lies up the canyon's natural dim hues, turning the area into a spectacle of fire and ice. There on the ground, Cinderace spins, every movement spitting her flames out into embers and then talons of heat and, finally, what looks like a small tornado consisting entirely of searing fire. She spins on her back, strengthening the flames at her heels until the vines that surround her are reduced to nothing but the smell of burnt grass. Meowscarada reacts quickly, attempting to summon another vast array of spiked vines, only for Cinderace to come breaking out of her fiery dance move and into one teetering on the edge of life and death for the magician.
Meowscarada gags as her throat is struck with tendrils of fire spewing from Cinderace's heels. Another kick connects. The feline Pokémon stumbles and staggers, nearly losing her footing in the snow, but she realigns herself as quickly as possible to block the next flurry of kicks Cinderace is dealing. One after the other, Cinderace's flaming kicks strike Meowscarada who is only able to block with the backs of her arms. Every strike brings the feline closer to losing her footing, as well as breaking the block she is hardly able to sustain. She grunts and groans and hisses all at once, trying to get out of Cinderace's line of fire, but there's just no opening. No way out. Cinderace has her just where she wants her, and while Meowscarada takes kick after kick, she is unable to bring forth her magic. Before long, her arms are aching. Bruised and bloody. Her fur is slowly withered by deep burn marks, leaving pink flesh revealed from underneath.
