🍃 Not even lust can be masked by magic forever.
As a Pokémon Trainer, your job is set: grow alongside your partner, Meowscarada, and take on whatever the cruel world might throw at you.
It's just not as...
"Yup, the tales are true," Penny says as she pulls her Glaceon back into its capsule. "You're the real deal everyone makes you out to be."

"No need to put me on a pedestal. I'm just a trainer, like you." Zoroark walks back over to you and stands behind you. You would reach up and pat her head, but this girl's way too tall, so you just give her a little nod of approval. She doesn't react, just gazes down at you with that still, gnarly face, but she seems content. Penny saunters over to you and extends her hand once again. You give it a shake, this time firmer than the last.
"Would be happy to be your training buddy again soon," she says. "As soon as my Eevees are back up, anyway."
"I could handle that for you." You wave a hand at Meowscarada and Cinnamon sitting under that tree. "Yo, cat! Wanna do us a favor and bring my bag here?"
Meowscarada stares tentatively at you for a second, then murmurs something to Cinnamon—a brief exchange between them—then they both stand and come walking over to you. Meowscarada snaps her fingers mid-walk, and you and Penny watch a fat duffel bag spawn into the air in front of her. Still twirling her fingers, she carries the bag without touching it, like she's got psychic powers—but that wouldn't really come as a surprise to you. It doesn't surprise Penny either; maybe she's already seen Meowscaradas do this, or she just doesn't care to react after having been swept by one Zoroark in battle.
You pull your bag from the air. "Thank you," you tell Meowscarada in a singsongy voice, and unzip it. Inside is your last packed outfit (last clean one, anyway) and a few junk items you brought from home. Among this junk are bundles of potions you never used, shouldn't be expired, as well as...
"You've got a Tera Orb," Penny says, gesturing to the shiny black orb. "That was another part of the Catboy rumors, that he doesn't use Terastallization. Why is that?"
You shrug your shoulders. "Never needed it."
"Brag."
"Not my intention. It's true, I never saw a use for it. Meowscarada never really needed a power boost, so we don't use it."
"She's not your only teammate anymore, though." She looks at the freakishly tall, off-colored Zoroark and Cinnamon. She's not wrong, now you have three teammates, and two of the three may not be as strong as Meowscarada. There may come a time when you need to use Terastallization for one reason or another, and you'd bet you won't need to use it on Meowscarada. Cinnamon, probably. Her and her blue flames getting a kick in power from Terastal energy? You're feeling jumpy just thinking about it.
"Maybe one day," you say and dig around in your bag for potions. "Hey, Meowscarada, while I'm getting this stuff, do you mind setting up our picnic table?"
"Meow."
She snaps her fingers again, and suddenly there sits a familiar picnic table in the middle of the field, complete with patterned tablecloth, a laced basket, and of course you can't forget your insulated cup styled after Sprigatito. Last time you saw this kind of venue, you were deep inside a cave (back then, that cave had been your place of respite until it became a Tera Raid Den and almost swallowed you whole); it's been months since then, you think.
