Lonzo

Chris was giving me the cold shoulder all week. I was trying everything to do that he's at least hear me out. There was a Halloween party coming up and I remembered him saying he wanted to dress as...well actually I don't remember what he said.

Kayon was all on cloud nine because Micky was coming to visit. He claimed he that wasn't why but I could see right through the lies.

I don't spend too much time on being in my feelings about that. Chris was sitting at lunch with his friends and I could halo but look on his direction. One of the girls tapped his shoulder and pointed at me, he looked back and scrunched up his shoulders. He was laying it on thick.

"It's gong on a week, he really showing you the definition of cold shoulder." Kayon leaned over and said.

"You the damn reason,"

"We ain't do anything though,"

"Why were y'all out for like a hour and a half? Be honest, did you?" Malani looked between the both of us.

"No!" We said together.

"Just making sure, because I talked to him and he doesn't think you did it either, he said it's still the principal. He asked you not be alone with him."

"I know, and I'm not tryna make it seem like shit was cool, it was wrong."

"Maybe don't try to fix it.." we both looked at Malani.

"What?"

"Maybe take some time to decide if he is what you really want, he's falling for you and you already fell for.." she ain't say his name just pointed at Kayon.

"Really Lani, we can see you."

"What I'm saying is, maybe let it be done while no one is actually hurt. You didn't cheat, it's just not working out."

"I do like him though,"

"But do you want him? Like really want him? Because I can promise you, you ain't looking at him the way you look at...ahem," she pointed at Kayon again.

"Imma just act like I ain't even here."

"You think that's what he wants?" I needed a real answer.

"He will never say it but if you care for this man like you claim you do, then maybe take a break and see what happens."

I pulled out my phone.

Me: can we maybe talk later? Plz

I saw the bubbles loading, then they disappeared. Then he looked back at me. He motioned his head towards the exit of the cafeteria. So I got up and threw my food away, and we both walked into the hallway. "Thank you,"

"It's been four days, I figure I can't stay quiet forever."

I rubbed the back of my neck. "Yeah" I hooked the strap of my backpack with my thumb, playing with it the strap nervously. "Chris, I mean it when I say I did not sleep with him... still don't mean I'm off the hook, because I shouldn't have left with him like that...I just was excited about him finally get a car."

"Is picking up the phone and just giving me a heads up such a difficult thing for you? We both mentioned early on communication was a huge deal for us."

"I know,"

"I have been able to think about things for these last few days and, I just wanted to start fresh. I do trust you Lonzo, and if I made you..."

I reached out for his hands. "No,"

"Excuse me?"

"Chris, we I'm not sure I'm all the way ready for this."
