Micky
He barely got any sleep between the girl Kayon had over, howling like a damn wolf, and running to the bathroom because of Gma's chili. He didn't want breakfast, he just laid in bed. He smelled weed coming from somewhere but was confused from where, Lani's door was closed. He got up to look around the room and spotted a small hole by his bed, he kneeled down to peeped through it. It was Kayon smoking with some of his friends.
It was something about how the sun shined on his face, making his eyes more visible. The way he turned his head when he laughed, his smile was still wide and beautiful as ever. But that sparkle in his eyes was dim, he was pretending. He was hurting or angry.
"You discovered the secret hole." Malani snuck up on him.
"I smelled loud and was trying to see where it was coming from."
"He not even suppose to be smoking in here, but he does whatever he wants." She shoved some toilet paper in the hole. "There is going to be an outdoor movie showing tonight, you wanna go?"
"Yeah, better then sitting around all day, what movie are they playing?"
"Oh umm...'Never Meant To' based off that book written by Johnnisha Whitfield."
"Oh, I love that book! I saw the previews, they did good with casting."
"Hell yes, the entire cast fine." She smiled.
"I was able to talk to Kayon a little last night."
"How that went?" Malani opened her closet.
"He seems angry,"
"I don't even blame him for that, I just wish he'd talk to me, Gma or even you. He won't." She searched through her clothes.
"I need to go shower," he pulled himself from warmth of his comforter and stepped into his slides. He grabbed a towel and went to the bathroom across from Kayon's room. He was just letting the warm water run down his body, when there was a knock. "Someones in here!" He yelled but the the door opened and closed. He pulled the curtain back and Kayon was pulling down his pants, aiming in the toilet.
"I couldn't hold it."
Micky's eyes lower to his dick, it curved. Jesus, it curved!
Kayon shook it once he finished and turned Mickys way and pushed his pants down past his knees. "You wanna better view, my nigga? You ain't even trying to be discreet..."
Micky closed the shower curtain. "I'm sorry,"
"You just full out like men now? I wasn't sure but you been acting strange." He finally pulled his pants back up, flushed the toilet and went to the sink to wash his hands.
"Yeah, I came out a couple years ago."
"Good for you, but I'm not into that. I don't care that you are, but be respectful of the fact that I'm not. All that staring at me, stop." With that he left the bathroom.
It wasn't on purpose. He would never intentionally make Kayon feel uncomfortable.
Truth was, he'd always had the biggest crush on him. Back then, it wasn't even about the physical. It was Kayon's personality that won him. The easy laugh, the way he made people feel like they mattered.
Now?
Now it was about the physical... because his personality sucked.
Still, he couldn't shake that memory.
The night Kayon climbed up into the treehouse and curled up beside him, quiet and heavy with sadness after hearing about his mom. Kayon had pulled him close without hesitation, like it was the most natural thing in the world.
