Kayon

"I'm just saying, Micky always had some sugar in his tank... so wasn't nobody shocked when he came out," Sean said after shooting the bottles they had lined up for target practice.

"I just can't be around that. My cousin is that way and we only tolerate him because he's family," Sean added.

Kayon stayed quiet.

"Kayon must not mind. He ain't said one thing." Lonzo nudged Sean.

Kayon finally looked up.

"For a bunch of niggas who swear they don't like dick, y'all sure spent the whole afternoon talking about it."

Lonzo laughed. "Yeah, but you the one laying up in the house with the nigga. He probably sneaking in your bed late at night instead of Toya."

Sean laughed with him.

Kayon set the gun down and walked over, jabbing Lonzo hard in the chest.

"Okay. Let's say that was true," he said quietly. "What your soft ass gon do?"

Lonzo smirked. "Oh, so you saying it's a possibility?"

"I'm saying if I was gay... then what?"

He looked from Lonzo to Sean.

"Then what?"

Lonzo stepped closer.

"Then I wouldn't wanna be anywhere around you or that fruity shit."

Kayon scoffed.

"I'm starting to think you are one," he said. "They say if you hate something too much, you might actually like it."

Lonzo shoved him.

Kayon shoved him right back.

"Ay yo! Come on, y'all," Sean said, stepping between them. "We boys. Stop this petty shit."

Lonzo grabbed his gun.

"Nah, it's cool. I won't say nothing else about his little bitch Micky."

He headed toward the car.

Kayon told Sean he'd just walk home.

Halfway there, a car slowed beside him.

Malani leaned over from the passenger seat.

"Get in."

Micky was driving.

The ride was quiet.

Too quiet.

Normally those two never shut up when they were together.

Kayon glanced between them.

"Everything good at the lake?"

They looked at each other... then quickly looked away.

Kayon raised an eyebrow.

"Guess not."

When they reached the house, Malani went straight to the room and shut the door behind her.

Micky stayed in the living room, just standing there.

Kayon glanced toward the hallway, then back at him.

"What the hell did you do?"

"Something stupid."

Kayon chuckled. "Obviously. But what?"

"Nothing you need to be concerned with. And why were you walking home anyway?"

"Got into it with the homies."
