Micky leaves in the morning and I wasn't exactly thrilled about having this conversation with him. He had been out all morning and afternoon with Malani and I was happy for that, because I haven't a clue how to end things. Lonzo fucking my brains out the other night did not help, at all because I was daydreaming about it. Every chance I got. He asked me to go with him to pick up some things from his moms tonight. The one thing I was happy about is that, he and I would be able to get back to hanging out, when Micky leaves. Then again, Chris would be back in a few days, so I wasn't sure how that would all work out.

I had saved up about thirty four hundred dollars, over the summer for school shopping. I was grabbing stuff here and there, so Gma could just focus on Malani. She told me I didn't have to buy all my clothes and things on my own, but she already let me stay here, free of charge. I want to be somewhat independent. Mr Bailey, was pretty upset about the fight going down at his store, he wanted to step to Sean himself, but I told him it was handled. That old man was like a grandfather to me, and he told me if I make straight A's on my first report card, he would buy me my first car. You already know I'm going to be focused as hell in school.

Gma wanted to throw some ribs on the grill, she also made baked beans, macaroni and cheese and some deviled eggs. "Malani came back with Micky, and we all sat around at the table outside.

"Well, baby we are going to miss you, and can't wait to see you next summer. You are always a joy to have in our home." Gma rubbed his hand.

"Imma miss you all like crazy, this was probably the very best summer I've had in a long time." He smiled at me.

"Well we know why that is," Malani side eyed us. I picked up a piece of fruit and threw it at her. She threw a piece back.

"Okay, that's enough. We do not play with food." Gma scolded us.

When we were done eating I asked him to stay behind. "Everything okay?"

I stood up and pacing around the table. "Micky, we had fun this summer and you helped me finally give over that hump of fear about be real with myself."

Is he going to ask me out?

"You really was sticking by me while I was playing games or not necessarily playing, but wasn't taking us serious." He swallowed.

"Now you're leaving tomorrow morning and I'm going to miss you..."

Come on Kayon, just ask me, you know imma say yes. I smiled to myself.

"I think we should continue as just friends."

My entire mood shifted. "Huh?"

"Look, I've thought it over and this long distance thing will not work for me."

"You not even willing to try?"

"I can't do it Mick,"

"I was not expecting this, I didn't want this." I tried to think of anything to say.

"Im not ready for commitment, not like I thought I was and I did think I was,"

"Okay, we got that out the way, imma go to this party with Lani tonight. I guess I might as well live it up my last night." I got up from the table.

"Micky, are you good man?"

"It wouldn't even fucking matter," I picked up my plate and went inside.

I rushed down the hall to Lani's room. "Changed my mind, I will go with you to the end of the summer party after all."
