Kayon

"Don't let that girl dye your hair Lonzo,"

"What, why you making it seem like I can't do it?"

"Because over the summer you fucked your own head up," he tapped the back of her neck.

"Okay and I fixed it and I've been practicing, you can trust me Lonzo,"

"I don't know, imma lil discouraged,"

"Fine, Micky will be here any minute now and he will let me."

I looked over at Lonzo, who shrugged. "Well, there you go, you have someone to practice on."

"Imma go wait for my friend outside, there's too many haters in here." She flipped her hair.

"It ain't yours," I yelled.

"I paid for it."

Lonzo put a pillow behind his head and laid back on the couch. "Leave her alone,"

"It's my job to pick at her, but nobody else can,"

"True,"

"You gonna stay for a while or you out when he get here?"

"Um chillin, ain't got shit to do..less you want me to go, y'all need to do some 'catching up?'

I did kinda wanna see him without Lonzo being here but I couldn't actually tell him that. "You good,"

He started flipping through the channels. "Let me know, cause I wouldn't be mad."

Yes he would.

I heard Malani screaming, so I knew he was outside. My heart was beating fast inside my chest, the thought of his curls bouncing as he walks and his pretty smile. I composed my excitement for the sake of Lonzo, who was pretending not to be paying attention to me. Then he'd bring it up later in a fight.

I could hear the front door open. "My mom just dropped me because I didn't wanna ride the bus." I dropped my head to smile upon hearing his voice.

"He's here!" Malani came around the corner, pulling his hand.

"What's up Kayon and Lonzo..." them legs, and the tattoos. Fuck! We made eye contact. I wondered if he would let, get in that ass later

I stood up and walked in front of him. We grabbed each others hand and hugged. His hair smelled like some tropical shit. "Sup Mick,"

Lonzo remained laying down. "What up bro, good to see you again. That couldn't be further from the truth.

"So, I have a bigger bed now, so we shouldn't have a problem sharing it." Malani had some of his bags in her hand.

"Okay, let me go put my stuff up." We stared at one other for a second, then he went with her

Lonzo was smiling. "Nigga you geeked as hell to see that man." He stood up putting on his slides. "Imma head out,"

"You don't have to go."

"Feel like um cockblocking or some shit, and that ain't me." He tapped my shoulder as he walked by me. "Hit my line tomorrow or I'll just see you in school."

"Love you," I said.

"Yeah, you too." He threw up the deuces as he opens the door to leave. I would definitely be hearing about this later.

Fuck that. I made my way to where Mick was, Malani's door was open. I walked in. He was bent over going through his Nike bag. She wasn't in here, so I walked up behind him, holding on to his hips. "Ass tooted up for me?" He stood up, allowing me to keep my hands there.
